Today we’d like to introduce you to Shemeka McNair.
Hi Shemeka, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Shemeka McNair – a U. S. Army Combat veteran, I served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. A proud native of Mississippi. I am the CEO of Coach MEI LLC, All Mei & Co, and Judah Films LLC. The proud Founder of “Women of the Hour” organization — I have been able to extend a wide range of support and resources to men and women, particularly as it relates to self-development, relationships, and business. I am a three times published author and screenwriter. Outside of my career, I volunteer my time and service in different facets in ministry and other organizations that assist domestic violence victims, women, and children in need. Which began a little more than a decade ago. Aside from my presence in ministry, I am a crafty actress who studied acting for film at the historic New York Film Academy in Hollywood, California. I have played integral roles in having written, directed, and produced films and theater. I have aspirations of becoming a household name, of sorts, most notably in globally-acclaimed theater arts and entertainment industries.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was not smooth. It may seem to others that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth but the reality is I had no utensils. So, I created a way to eat without them. My lack thereof activated my ability to create everything I needed. When you are hungry, you will find a way to eat. I believe my biggest struggle was believing in myself. Believing that if I could see it then I could achieve it. Believing that if I got knocked down I could get back up. Believing that I can turn my pain into power. Believing that I can start again. Believing that I am good enough. Believing that what I bring to the table is valuable. Believing that great things can come from me. I would say doubt was my biggest struggle. Pay attention to the past tense, it was my biggest struggle. I now walk in my power fearlessly.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The name of my company is Coach Mei LLC which is short for my name but it is also an acronym for what I do which is Motivate, Empower & Inspire. I specialize in providing strategic insight and actionable solutions for individuals who are trying to overcome hardship/obstacles in their life, relationship, careers, or business. In addition to that, I am also a coach for the creatives in the areas of authorship, filmmaking, and theater. I am known for shifting people out of a place called “stuck” I give hope and inspiration to those who have given up or struggling with their belief. The thing that sets me apart from others is my ability to take whatever a person comes to me with even if it’s nothing, I will make it into something.
I also launched the All Mei & Co “The Motivation Boutique™️” as a stem from my coaching brand Coach Mei. I wanted to offer to others what I once needed. I wondered how many people felt like me. How many people out there just needed a push, some type of inspiration or a little motivation, someone to empower them when they could not do it for themselves. I became what I needed and decided to share it with the world. I became Motivation, I became Empowerment, and I became the Inspiration. Outside of empowering my clients, I decided to offer a collection that will exemplify my message. I created products they can wear, take into their homes and even gift to others. My collection includes apparel, hand poured soy candles, home decor, and natural beauty products such as fragrance, body oils, and soap. My T-shirt line has been very effective in making positive statements with quotes such as “Men Have Standards Too” I created this shirt for men so they know they do not have to settle for less than the best. Normally it is women who promote their standards and I want men to know it’s okay to set a standard as well. “Enjoying My Singleness” I created this shirt for women to let them know that you do not have to wait for a companion to enjoy life. Overall I want my items to make people feel good, smell good, and be in a good state mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Visualization is so important which is why I created products to wear, to take in your home and to hang on your wall. My goal is to drown out the negativity with positivity.

What matters most to you? Why?
The thing that matters to me the most is making sure my life has been purposeful. I want to die empty. A great doctor once said, “the richest place on earth is the cemetery” because so many people die without fulfilling their potential. This is why I push others to become the highest version of themselves. Friends, family, or anyone I may meet along the way. I am going to push whatever that is inside of them out so, that the world may see. If you have every wanted to achieve anything great then you will understand the trials and pressure that comes along with birthing out your greatness. I am just here as the midwife to help individuals push and birth greatness.
