Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivori Lipscomb-Warren.
Hi Ivori, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I received an unexplained infertility diagnosis at the age of 35. Not only was I frustrated at not being able to have a child in the way I imagined, but my life was turned upside down when I couldn’t get an answer from experts. At the age of 40, I was able to conceive a natural pregnancy but suffered a loss.
I chose not to be defeated. I moved forward with nine IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) cycles over a two-year period. I was relentless in my goal. At 42, I became pregnant by IVF and officially entered my parenting journey at 43 and 19 years of marriage. While all of this internal storm was happening, I was still running a business and growing my career!
In the midst of my pain, I became a mommy to two angel babies (a baby that has been lost to miscarriage or stillbirth) born into heaven. I have been married to my best friend for 20 years. It is because of my personal journey of grieving and growing after loss and my background in mental health that I decided to begin my coaching practice to help women purposefully design a life they love in the areas of infertility, miscarriage, postpartum, and mompreneurship.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! The struggles included being diagnosed with unexplained infertility, suffering multiple pregnancy losses, having to change fertility centers, loss of friendships, and emotional and physical drain on body.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Ivy Girl, LLC is home to the Ivori Nicole Coaching Practice. As a Certified Professional Coach, I offer Purposefully Designed™ one-on-one, holistic coaching to women as they grieve and grow through infertility and/or pregnancy and infant loss, begin a successful postpartum journey or further develop your business (what I like to call, MOMpreneurship). As an experienced and engaged coach, I help my client to make impactful decisions as they transform their life plan through achievable and worthwhile steps:
Infertility & Pregnancy and Infant Loss
As you grieve and grow after an infertility diagnosis and/or pregnancy and infant loss, we will navigate your journey to healing and start cultivating your mindset to help you heal and persevere.
Postpartum
If you desire support through your first few months of your first, second, or even third round parenthood, I have your back. Let’s create a plan and solidify a style that works for you.
Business
I’ll provide structure and support to grow a business while handling family responsibilities. From revenue to rest, we’ll ensure you have a method for success.
What sets me apart from others is that through my pain, I have discovered my passion and helping women purposefully design a life they love. I am transparent about my journey so that I may help and be a voice for those who feel as though they do not have one. In addition, there are not a lot of infertility coaches, let alone African American ones. I also do not focus on changing diet and supplements to change egg quality, but take a holistic approach where we focus on the mindset as being at peace is a big part of the journey.
Brand wise, I am most proud of those women who decide to put themselves first, take the step to seek coaching, be transparent about this journey, and receptive to support.
What I want your readers to know about my brand and services is that they have a coach that understands from personal experience what they are experiencing and that they do not have to navigate the road of infertility diagnosis, pregnancy and infant loss, postpartum woes, or beginning their entrepreneurial alone.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. What I love is that while it is diverse it is also close-knit. There is literally six degrees of separation and there is a willingness to assist.
