Hi IC, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I got started as an artist when I was a child. I became an entrepreneur early on, by having ownership over my catalog. I also own the logos I created to sell my merchandise. I got into being a radio personality by doing interviews on YouTube & Facebook Live. Hot Seat with IC JONEZ is now on internet radio & streamed on several platforms. Managing artists came naturally from being a veteran indie artist, as well as music & business consulting.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an indie artist & entrepreneur isn’t always easy but the road is as smooth as you make it out to be because you pave your own path throughout your journey. One of the biggest struggles with being an entrepreneur is that sometimes you win big financially & sometimes you don’t. You have to maneuver through those rough patches.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a music artist, songwriter, entertainer & radio personality (talk show host) & manager. I’m known for being a Christian Hip-Hop Entrepreneur. I’m most proud of my work ethic & that I never quit along the way. I’m set apart because of the fact that I’m giving other artists a light in my city by interviewing them on my radio show.
I give them the spotlight in many different ways that they may not have had prior to. I also give a lot of knowledge away for practically free. I want to see the US win.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Quitters never win & winners never quit. You can try & fail but don’t ever fail to try.
