Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherrelle Pinkett.
Hi Sherrelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my business back in 2015 when a friend of mine showed me a blinged-out shirt and said “I think we can do this”. We originally started a bling T-shirt business called Expression Tees. I later branched out and created Bella’s Bling Boutique, which specializes in bling apparel, shoes, novelties, and accessories.
It’s more than glitz and glam. It’s beyond shimmer and shine. “Bling” is a lifestyle. Sherrelle Pinkett, known to the world as Bella Bling, believes that everyone deserves to walk in their purpose and light. In an effort to empower and inspire, Bella Bling affirms the greatness that resides in us all. While confidence stems from the inside, the serial entrepreneur firmly believes in the power of standing tall and embracing your right to shine.
As the proud owner of Bella’s Bling Boutique, Bella Bling creates exclusive accessories and apparel that command attention. With a collection that includes positive affirmations, Bella Bling thrives off the principle that, “If you’re inconsistent, you’re nonexistent.” This motto led the former financial services executive to leave the corporate world to pursue a life of passion.
Through artistry that maximizes color and gems, Bella Bling has designed merchandise for global superstars including Monica, Fantasia, and Grammy Award Winner Anthony Hamilton, just to name a few. She’s also the Co-Founder of the #BeWhoYouPostBe movement, which was recently featured on BET, WETv., TMZ, and ABC Broadcasting Australia.
In 2018, Bella Bling launched Bella Bling University, an exclusive training to the bling community, and in June 2019 became a premier bling instructor with Michael’s. Since taking the leap of faith, Bella Bling has become one of the most highly acclaimed bling artists in the country, masterfully balancing class, and style.
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, while we were all going through a trying time, Bella Bling, managed to leverage her passion for bling and the need for a mask to skyrocket her business. Based on the success of Bella’s Bling Boutique during this time, this proved that with a pivotal mindset, you can do anything. This prompted Bella Bling to share business practices and marketing techniques with aspiring and existing entrepreneurs who were looking to level up. With a little repositioning, Bella Bling taught virtual bling and business classes, providing resources and real-life experiences that can be applied universally. In Spring, 2022, we will be relaunching Bella Bling University, to include entrepreneurial readiness classes for new and existing business owners.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I started Bella’s Bling Boutique in 2015. Has it always been a smooth road? Absolutely NOT! LOL As a new entrepreneur at the time, there were very little resources available for me that I knew of. I ended up missing out on a lot of money just because of things that I didn’t know. Some of the struggles included not knowing how to price items, not knowing how to source materials, how to handle orders, etc. As time went on, I learned a lot. Struggles will come in any business and I don’t feel like it’s a bad thing. I think that “struggles” are learning experiences that you can grow from.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the Bling Visionary and owner of Bella’s Bling Boutique and Bella Bling University. We are a luxury bling lifestyle brand that specializes in custom bling apparel, accessories, and novelties. We offer bling brand manufacturing as well as courses teaching people how to “bling” using the art of crystal strassing. I am most proud of the work that I have done as it relates to being a resource for other BLINGpreneurs and entrepreneurs in general. I believe what sets me apart from the others is that I am constantly looking for new ways to level up the bling and not just the material if this makes sense. What are your plans for the future?
I am always looking for ways to bring awareness to my craft. In the near future, I am looking to secure a space where I can not only retail my items but teach people new skills. I am also looking to hire 2 additional staff and that is very exciting as that means that Bella’s Bling Boutique is growing. I have other plans that I will be announcing early, 2022 so please stay tuned 😉
