Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Guevara.
Hi Jorge, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started back in 2012 when Instagram was in its beginning stages. I began as a Fitness Model shooting with some of the best photographers in the nation which helped me grow my online presence as well as planting the seed for the love, I have for creating content. But then in 2015 after my first professional Fashion shoot in LA with Scott Hoover, I decided to rebrand myself and image taking an entire different direction from when I started. This is truly when my passion for Menswear, Lifestyle, and Fitness content creating really took off. It took about 2 years to rebrand myself and social media in front of my followers I had already built. It was challenging at first but I knew at some point I would achieve what I truly wanted to be shooting and posting on my feeds. After my first big Lucky Brand collaboration in Winter of 2017, everything started falling into place and different Fashion brands began noticing me then. Fast forward to today, I have worked with some of the top brands in the nation recognized worldwide and have created some great content that have brought me recurring partnerships for years to come.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. The transition from a full-time Fitness Model to a Menswear and Lifestyle content creator took time and lost a lot of my following that I had worked so hard for and invested. The growth has also been very slow but steady which is the key to the game. Finding the time to shoot at first when I was not monetizing at all from it was very hard because it was a lot of investing without seeing a return. Little did I know, years later it would all pay off and more.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Content Creator. I love working hand in hand with brands for an upcoming campaign and having the freedom to be creative as use my team to shoot cinematic content in an organic natural way. We specialize in Menswear and Lifestyle content, both static and motion photos/reels. The fact that a lot of people doubted me back then and told me I would spend too much time in social media is probably what I am most proud of. Not because I was able to prove them wrong but the feeling of fulfillment doing what I love and eventually turned into monetization. What truly sets us apart from others is the content that we are creating. We take the time to analyze the goal of the brand for each campaign and take it to the next level. All organic and natural which is what people want to see and at the same time staying true to my brand and image always with a positive message.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has not really played a huge role in my life. I have always placed myself in time and places where I know opportunities will grow from it. I have always been a people person and have used that to my advantage to build long-term relationships which eventually have led to work opportunities. I would say the hard work and passion we put it when creating the content and connecting on a day to day with my followers have put me where I am today.
