Today we’d like to introduce you to Dre & Sincere.
Hi Dre & Sincere, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Sincere: Being someone with multiple interest & goals it is sometimes hard to decide where to start. At the base of all the things we liked to do talking was the center, so it was only right to dive into our creative journey with a podcast.
Dre: Aight Soo Boom… When we started by that time we’ve been close friends for about 2 years and spent a lot of time together. we would always joke and say we needed a tv show for the things we would do and the conversations we would have. one day sincere said she wanted to start a podcast we came up with a list of names and the ball kept rolling.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Dre: I would say we didn’t struggle as bad as we thought we would. Guests were Booking and topics were flowing, for me, the biggest struggle was promotion and time management. I still have a tuff time with promo.
Sincere: The Irony is getting started was the hardest part. Recording the first episode on a whim, with friends around a bonfire gave us the real boost we needed. The hardest part was being consistent, working with other people you have to take in account their schedule, feelings, and energy.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Dre: I am a closeted photographer. Capturing an image that can tell endless stories is what I love to create. As much as I love to capture these images, I also love to be in the moment and often shy away from taking pictures. I am most proud of the inspiration the podcast brings to me creatively.
Sincere: I am a storyteller by nature. My usual medium is poetry, and that is what many people know me for. I am most proud of the positive relationships I have been fortunate enough to build over the years.
Our energy and transparency set us apart from others. We create a comfortable and inviting environment for anyone who talks to/sits down with us.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Dre: Working across the board is one of the best things you can do somebody knows somebody that does something that has a skill you need.
Sincere: Have an Open mind and be present. Things aren’t always going to look the way you thought they would. But from every situation, take what you need.
