Meet Chazz Scott of Positively Caviar and Supra Mentem

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chazz Scott.

Hi Chazz, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My story started with being introduced to a book titled, “Power of Positive Thinking” by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale while studying Computer Science at Hampton University. After reading the book it completely change my paradigm in my life and provided me the confidence, and knowledge to change my life for the better in my relationships, studies, and professional life. After seeing the positive results manifest in my life, I desperately wanted to give these principles to inner-city youth to address the mental health crisis. This encouraged me to start Positively Caviar, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit, based in the Baltimore Washington D.C. area, focused on using positive thinking and optimism as a vehicle to instill mental resilience and disrupt mental health stigmas faced in our communities. To date, we’ve served over 5000+ youth across Baltimore and Washington D.C. to provide an informal and interactive space to discuss preventative mental health strategies through our mental wellness B.U.I.L.D. Self-Empowerment Workshops. In addition, I am the Founder and Mindset & Resilience Coach at Supra Mentem, LLC., where I coach entrepreneurs and professionals with practical strategies and the understanding of the human mind to propel the everyday person towards their deepest desires. In this role, I am regularly called upon to give keynotes, motivational speeches, webinars, and seminars to help individuals achieve their potential in their professional and personal lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road but I’ve enjoyed every bit of the journey. Running and building a nonprofit is tough especially if want to scale your impact strategically. One of the biggest struggles recently has been due to COVID-19 pandemic. Like most businesses, we had to adjust our business model and convert our face-to-face mental wellness workshops to Zoom. Although it was new for us and the youth, we gradually became accustomed to it and were able to create a space to discuss critical mental wellness techniques that can help youth at an early age. We are continuing to provide virtual mental wellness workshop events to clients but we can’t wait to get back to face-to-face workshops again!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Positively Caviar Inc. and Supra Mentem, LLC.?
So, I spend my time focused on both coaching and regularly giving keynote speaking engagements through my LLC and building out our youth workshops with our nonprofit.

Supra Mentem, LLC. specializes in coaching entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals with practical strategies, secrets, and the scientific understanding of the human mind to propel the everyday person towards their deepest desires. His motivational speaking engagements and coaching will leave you equipped with the practical knowledge of the human mind to control your destiny, increase productivity, and gain more fulfillment in life. To date, we’ve trained employees from the U.S. Black Chambers of Commerce, Maryland Association of Election Officials, District of Columbia Hospital Association, and the City of Baltimore.

Our nonprofit: Positively Caviar, Inc. (PCI) is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization centered on using positive thinking and optimism as a vehicle to instill mental resilience and disrupt mental health stigmas faced in our communities. We accomplish our mission by relying on positive digital media, various meetups, high-intensity speaking engagements, and our signature mental wellness B.U.I.L.D. Self-Empowerment workshops. We work with youth organizations, schools, and mental health clinics to provide informal and interactive space to discuss preventative mental health strategies to promote all the necessary qualities in making decisions for a positive, healthy, and resilient life. PCI’s goal is not to replace formal mental health programs; instead, we complement them. So rather than mental health being a dark place to discuss negative emotions, PCI’s workshops are focused on shining a light on mental wellness. To date, we’ve worked with Hope Health Systems, Inc., Boys and Girls Clubs, Black Mental Health Alliance, Baltimore City Health Department, and Best Kids, Inc.

Any big plans?
I am very excited about the future. We are at the beginning stages of developing summer mental wellness workshops for youth so we can scale our impact across the city of Baltimore. In addition, I’ve been in the process of writing a book that discusses the pivotal intersection between wellness and success in life. The book will be discussing the scientifically-backed strategies I’ve learned, gathered, and applied that can help readers streamline their success in life while taking care of their body core needs. It’s all about reinventing the true path to success that lies already within us.
