Hi David, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2001 I began buying rental properties in Baltimore City. I was still working for Corporate America at the time but had a true calling for real estate. I quickly recognized an opportunity to be a professional real estate agent as I had poor experiences as a consumer. I developed a plan to become the most professional real estate agent in the area and have worked tirelessly every day since with that as my guiding mission.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In 2020 I was diagnosed with Lymphatic and Throat cancer. At the time of my diagnosis, I was at the absolute peak of my career. The treatment required 12 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation. I was forced to completely step away from my business. The time away forced deep reflection about my models and systems. My team was amazing and supported my practice completely without dropping a ball. I learned that my associates are so much more capable and competent than I had ever given them a chance to be. They wanted to lead, they wanted to win, and they wanted to serve at the highest level. It was inspiring to see my business thrive WITHOUT me.
