Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Yeboah Jr.
Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I worked retail sales and management for over ten years. I’ve always been a people person and my mom was in sales so it just seemed like second nature. It paid my bills so I kept doing it but the main reason I kept a normal job was to fuel my real passion which is music. After years of building a fan base and doing shows with major and indie artist I knew that I really didn’t want to keep working in retail. My morale was at an all-time low and eventually, I resigned from my job to start my entertainment company. I’ve always enjoyed creating, from sketches to making clothing and music. I always wanted to create a company after my music career was over that helped brands look good and be seen, so when 2020 hit I had no choice but to look for other forms of revenue. That’s when NSM Ent became an official company.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It actually was a smoother transition than I expected. I got some sponsor right away that made it easier for us to grow the company. Just like most start businesses we struggled with finding leads and clients.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about NSM Ent.?
NSM Ent is an American entertainment company, operating as an independent record label, marketing, and creative agency. We are able to provide a multitude of services that will aid creatives, businesses, and families. We handle everything from website and brand development, to wedding services. My company is a centralized hub that offers all the services a business, brand, or family could ever need. We’re proud to assist in marketing campaigns for Prive Revox, Herrs snacks and dove men’s care. If you have a need in marketing or entertainment my company can help provide the quality services you deserve at affordable rates.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The road success is never easy. There will always be ups and downs, but the biggest thing is having faith in your business. When it looks grim you have to keep going. When you’re starting a business connecting with the right entrepreneurs and clientele is essential. You can’t just try to sell your stuff to everyone you have to know specifically who is going to buy your product or service. Planning is key and you cannot be lazy and think you will run a successful business. It just doesn’t work that way especially in the beginning.
