Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Paige.
Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My photography journey began when I was 16 years old. Mrs. Ali, my art teacher, handed me a Nikon D60. It was love at first sight. The weight of the camera felt right. After winning my first competition, I knew I had a knack for portrait photography. Makes sense when I think about it. My mother is a pretty talented portraitist, A few more competitions and a nice scholarship later, I started college. School was a complete struggle for me. I was dealing with a lot of emotional baggage and felt myself unraveling. So I decided to leave, save some money and take a solo trip across the world. I’d never suggest anyone quit their education. At the time, it was the right choice for me. I continued photographing people and working on my own projects; learning and studying along the way. In 2019 I stared my photography business (apsnaps.com). As for today. I’m still running my business, now specializing in editorial style portraits, as well as working on the occasional social project. My art is constantly being elevated by working with other talented creatives. I’m always striving to push the limits of what I believe is possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My grandfather, rest his soul, once said “Paved roads only lead to other people destinies”. Any journey worth taking is going to have challenges. I’ve had my fair share of struggles. At the age of 30, I’m finally learning to embrace the struggle, and learn the lesson. There’s always a lesson.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a photographer specializing in editorial-style portraits. My strengths lay in my direct, simple yet personal approach to photographing the human experience. People know me for my colorful, strong fashion images. I dabble in black and white from time to time but I do love my colors. I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to connect to the subject while making people feel at ease. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing people blossom through the camera and having a fun time.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
