Spirits Maven is a brokerage agency and promotions company for wine and spirits. Stacy Pesacov is the President and has been in business for over twenty years. Our main objective is to provide professional, fun, and engaging tastings of artisanal and big brand wine and spirits at wine and liquor stores throughout Maryland, including Baltimore City and County as well as Washington, D.C., and Delaware.
We started in the business many years ago as the owners and operators of several consumer events including the Harford LIVE! Home & Garden Show at Ripken Stadium, as well as an event series, called the Food, Libations, and Luxury Home Shows. At all of the events, we included wine and spirits tasting stations to give attendees an enhanced experience.
We always loved this component of the events and as such, pursued it further and opened Spirits Maven. We give distributors, suppliers, distilleries, wineries, and retail stores a refreshingly dependable and engaging service that entertains customers and meets the high standards of nationwide, regional and local brands.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a relatively smooth road. And what I mean by that is that hours of hard work, research, learning, and onsite work were involved before opening Spirits Maven. I actually took a job working customer service at a large wine and liquor store to better understand the customers and the real workings of this business. I did that for a year as I developed my strategy for forming this company. Unless you really work in the business at all levels, you will never understand and appreciate all of the work that is involved. I would recommend that anyone pursuing their field of interest go in at the ground level, be open-minded and learn everything they can.

Spirits Maven was started as a way to give wine and spirits distributors, retailers, and brands a dependable and intelligent group of successful professionals to conduct tastings. Our tasting team is comprised of business owners, upper-level executives, teachers, and an architect who are incredibly responsible, enjoy wine and spirits, and love engaging with customers.
This company was formed in direct response to the problems retailers and distributors were having in finding reliable professionals to conduct engaging tastings. Oftentimes, the people sent out to do the tastings were not knowledgeable about the products, looked at their mobile phones the entire time, and many times did not even show up.
Spirits Maven is the opposite of this and we are proud of it. Spirits Maven is known for conducting excellent tastings that engage customers and give them a fun and memorable experience. We support our brands and our clients with ongoing social media promotion that gives even more value to our services. We get to know our customers and have formed some really nice friendships with them. Leading up to this, we lay a solid foundation logistically and operationally that makes our tastings and day-to-day look seamless. We are proud of the trusting relationships we have developed with retailers and distributors and everyone else involved. Trust is everything in business and Spirits Maven operates by this every day.
