Today we’d like to introduce you to David Barmer Jr.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is David Barmer Jr, Im a photographer and creative director who specializes in film and digital photography. I started off taking pictures of my friends a lot of them are creatives/athletes so it made it pretty easy. I also went to as many shows, studio sessions, and pop-ups as I could just to network and build and I still do along with commissions.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’m blessed to say for the most part it’s been smooth i dealt with some adversity initially because of how young i was when i started. I had a hard time getting in certain places and people taking my work seriously but that changed pretty quickly.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer and creative who specializes in event and music photography. I’ve done work for many artists and companies. What I’m most proud of is just being able to make a living doing what i love and documenting moments. What sets me apart from others is how experimental i am. I’m constantly pushing boundaries, learning techniques and experimenting with how to push my art further.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Be kind to others! people are gonna remember how you treated them more than any photo, any accolade or other achievement.
