Check Out Vermeka White’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vermeka White.

Hi Vermeka, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Allure Boards really started from my love of creating beautiful food experiences and bringing people together. What began as me making charcuterie boards and displays for family, friends, and small gatherings grew into a business once people started asking me to create the same experience for their events.

Over time, I’ve expanded from simple boards into full grazing tables, tiered displays, themed setups, and custom event spreads. I’ve learned how to blend food, presentation, and décor so each setup feels intentional and memorable. Today, Allure Boards is about more than charcuterie. It’s about creating a beautiful, elevated experience that guests can enjoy and remember.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. Like a lot of small business owners, I’ve had to learn so much as I went. In the beginning, I was figuring out pricing, portions, setup timing, how to transport everything safely, and how to make sure the final display looked just as beautiful in person as it did in my mind.

One of the biggest struggles has been balancing the creative side with the business side. I love creating the experience, but there’s also planning, communication, shopping, prep, contracts, deposits, cleanup, and making sure the numbers make sense. It takes a lot more behind the scenes than people realize.

There have also been moments where I doubted myself or wondered if I was charging too much, doing too much, or ready for bigger events. But every setup taught me something. The struggles helped me get clearer, more confident, and more professional. They pushed me to treat Allure Boards not just like something I enjoy, but like a real brand with real value.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Allure Boards is a curated catering and grazing display business that specializes in large, elevated grazing displays for special events. We have created boards and custom spreads for weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, intimate gatherings, corporate events, and other celebrations.

What we are known for is presentation and experience. Our specialty is taking food and turning it into a beautiful focal point for the event. Whether it is a classic charcuterie spread, a tiered grazing table, or a themed display, we focus on creating something that feels polished, abundant, and memorable.

What sets Allure Boards apart is the attention to detail. We think through the layout, color, height, flow, florals, serving pieces, and overall event style so the display feels intentional and custom to the occasion. It is not just about putting food on a table. It is about creating a centerpiece that guests can gather around, enjoy, and remember.

Brand-wise, I am most proud that Allure Boards has become known for creating beautiful, large-scale grazing experiences that bring people together. I want readers to know that when they book Allure Boards, they are getting more than food. They are getting an elevated experience designed with care, creativity, and a genuine love for making celebrations feel special.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think risk is a part of growth, especially when you are building something of your own. I would not say I take risks without thinking them through, but I do believe in betting on myself when the opportunity feels aligned.

Starting Allure Boards was a risk because I had to put my creativity, my name, and my work in front of people and trust that there was a real demand for it. There is vulnerability in turning something you enjoy into a business, especially while also navigating life as a corporate baddie, a mama of two young ladies, and a wife. I am balancing my career, my family, my marriage, and my own personal growth while still making space for this brand I believe in.

One of the biggest risks has been saying yes to larger grazing displays and more detailed event setups. Bigger events require more planning, more product, more time, and more confidence. There is more pressure because people are trusting you with moments that matter to them. But those risks have also helped me grow the most. Each time I stepped outside of what felt comfortable, I became more prepared, more professional, and more confident in what Allure Boards could become.

For me, risk is not about being fearless. It is about being willing to move forward even when life is full, when you are still learning, and when you do not have every single answer yet. I try to make thoughtful decisions, prepare as much as I can, and then trust myself to execute. That mindset has helped me grow both personally and as a business owner.
