Today we’d like to introduce you to Ukenda Moulden.
Hi Ukenda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started college thinking I was going to grow up to be a music teacher but then I realized how much I loved writing my own music and recording, I also was so bored during the intro music education courses. Once I started expressing my interest in music technology it only just grew from there, I became an audio engineer for my school and put out a small EP. I think decided that I wanted to learn more and now I study computer music at one of the best schools in the country!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Mental health was and is a big one, I feel like mental health isn’t talked about enough in the music industry when it’s just as important as physical health.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So while I am known for recording and working with live sound, I also compose drum and bass and lofi beats! I think one of the things that sets me apart from others is that I’m also a classically trained violinist so I have been behind the glass and in front of the glass!
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Honestly just contact me! I’m kind and always looking to collaborate, I even collaborated with a dancer at Peabody named Kylah Ford, I wrote music for her!
Pricing:
- I charged between $150-$200 for a piece but is negotiable and depends on how long!
