Hi D3vyy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out as an audio engineer and videographer for guys I grew up with in my neighborhood, and we were all getting started with music seriously. In between time I would practice vocal techniques to perfect my engineering and vocal training for Rap and RnB artists, until eventually I started coming up with my own ideas and decided to record more of my own work and its been going from there.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has been up and down, but still feels rewarding. As an artist you still have to handle personal business while growing if you want to better your circumstances which for me included, working jobs, rideshare, etc. Its still pretty tough but as I see the responses from actual supporters and different opportunities arise I remain motivated to give my all even when I want to quit.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a music artist who blends Rap/HipHop with RnB. I’m most know for my first project Open H3art and am proud of that project due it being my very first where I actually locked in on a concept and decide to share it with the world with the help of a producer by the name of ChXn (pronounced Shawn). What sets me apart from others is my limitless approach to real-life subjects in my music, like the song “Occurrence” from my project where I talk about the mental behind people who have dealt with abuse from child to adulthood. I feel like its important to raise the bar creatively as we evolve at times for the next generation.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
There are quite a few lol, but Chxn, Ash, Shy, my Nephew, Mom and so many more. They’ve encouraged me to keep going during my toughest times. Without them I doubt I’d still be going as strong as I am now.
