Community Highlights: Meet Gina Ramsey of Pink Dog Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Ramsey.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been in marketing and advertising for over 20 years, and I’ve moved up through the ranks at every company and every role I’ve held along the way. I moved to Baltimore in 2001 for my husband’s job, and I spent the years that followed building my career in digital marketing and advertising, working my way from account executive up to Vice President at my prior company. After some internal changes there, I decided it was time to go out on my own, and in 2018 I founded Pink Dog Digital.

Today, I serve as President of a ten-person team here in Baltimore, and we help small and medium-sized businesses across the country grow their digital footprint through website development, AI optimization, SEO, content creation, social media management, digital advertising and consulting. Honestly, none of this would have been possible without my team. They’re the ones who show up every day and do the work that gets our clients real results. I truly couldn’t have built this agency, or grown it to where it is now, without them.

Giving back is also a big part of who I am. I serve as President of the Board for There Goes My Hero, a local nonprofit that supports blood cancer patients and runs bone marrow donor registry drives. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my husband Brian, our dog, and our friends and family.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It certainly hasn’t always been smooth. Moving away from my friends and family in Ohio to come to Baltimore was extremely difficult. On top of that, my first job here ended up being one of the worst I’ve ever had, so I had to find my footing in a new city and a career I wasn’t loving all at once.

Later on, after years of working hard and moving up at the company I was with, I learned about some changes leadership was making that I couldn’t get behind ethically. That was a hard thing to sit with after investing so much of myself into that company, but it left me with a clear choice, and I made the decision to leave and start my own agency.

Looking back, I believe every one of those struggles made me stronger. They gave me the resilience and the skills I needed to build Pink Dog Digital into what it is today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Pink Dog Digital?
Pink Dog Digital is a full-service digital marketing agency, and we work with small and medium-sized businesses across the country to help them grow. Our services cover website design and development, e-commerce solutions, search engine optimization and search engine marketing, AI optimization, social media management, content creation, email marketing, digital advertising and marketing consulting. We can also build custom integrated database systems and custom software for clients who need something a little more specialized.

What sets us apart is how we approach the work. We’re educational, not salesy. We want our clients to understand what we’re doing and why, not just take our word for it. Everything we do is results-focused, so clients should see clear return on investment (ROI) for every service we provide. Above all, reputation and integrity matter to us more than anything else. We want every client to feel like we truly have their back.

I couldn’t do any of this without my team. We’re a ten-person agency with an all-women management team, and everyone brings a different piece of the puzzle, from web development and SEO to PPC, social media, graphic design and operations. What I’m most proud of is the culture we’ve built together. It’s a place where people genuinely want to do great work and treat each other and our clients with respect, and that shows up in everything we deliver. We were recently recognized by the Daily Record as Best Digital Marketing Agency, Best Woman-Owned Business, and Best Web Development Company, and while those recognitions are great, they mean the most to me because they reflect that culture, not just the results.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that I should have done this years earlier. I spent a long time doubting whether I had what it took to run my own agency, when in reality I already had the skills and the experience to make it work. If I could go back, I’d tell myself to trust myself and my abilities sooner, because once I finally took the leap, everything I’d learned along the way came together exactly when I needed it to.
