Inspiring Conversations with Lizzy Daniel of Pure Alignment Physical Therapy & Pilates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzy Daniel.

Lizzy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Pure Alignment Physical Therapy & Pilates has been in the works since June 2022. I started small, seeing Pilates clients in their homes just two days a week. As demand grew, I knew I eventually needed a dedicated space, but I wasn’t quite ready to commit to a commercial lease.

Around that time, my family moved into a new home with a room right off the front door that was perfect for a small studio. (This may or may not have been a requirement for the new house.) I began seeing Pilates clients there while continuing to work at a local physical therapy practice.

Then, in April 2025, the PT practice where I worked unexpectedly closed. Suddenly, I had a decision to make: find another job or take a leap and go all in on my own business. I chose the latter—and that one decision completely changed the trajectory of my career and my life. Since then, I’ve grown Pure Alignment to offer both Pilates and pelvic health physical therapy, and I couldn’t be more grateful that I took the leap.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been smooth sailing! The biggest challenge has been learning how to grow a business while still staying true to the kind of care I want to provide. Because I work one-on-one with my clients, there’s naturally a limit to how much I can grow without sacrificing the personalized experience that makes my practice special.

There have also been plenty of moments of uncertainty—especially when I decided to leave the security of a traditional PT job and go all in on my own business. I’ve had to learn a lot along the way about marketing, managing a business, setting boundaries, and trusting myself. It hasn’t always been easy, but those challenges have pushed me to become more confident not only as a business owner, but also in the vision I have for Pure Alignment.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is rooted in the belief that movement is medicine. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in pelvic health and a classical Pilates instructor, I bring a unique perspective to movement, biomechanics, and how the body functions. I believe movement should help you feel more connected to and confident in your body. At my studio, I offer both physical therapy services and private one-on-one Pilates sessions. I work with individuals navigating pelvic floor dysfunction, including pelvic pain, low back pain, leaking, pressure, and changes in bowel or bladder function, as well as those preparing for birth or recovering postpartum. I also work with hypermobile individuals who want to better understand their bodies, build strength and stability, and move with greater confidence.

Rather than simply treating a symptom or providing a list of exercises, I look at the whole person: how you breathe, move, stabilize, compensate, and connect with your body. What sets my practice apart is the combination of clinical pelvic health expertise and Pilates. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients understand why they move the way they do and give them the tools to feel stronger and more connected to their bodies.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is spending time with my kids—playing with them, being outside, being silly, and simply being fully present for the everyday moments. I feel incredibly grateful that I can move my body without significant pain or limitations and participate in their lives without having to think twice about what my body can handle.

That perspective is a big part of why I love what I do. I want the people I work with to feel good and confident in their bodies so they can do the things they love—whether that’s playing with their kids, exercising, traveling, or simply getting through their day without pain.
