Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Leone.
Hi Jeff, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I created Grunging Pumpkins in October 2023 as a music discovery and music promotion platform for bands and artists. Today Grunging Pumpkins has become the place for music to be heard and sought after by bands and artists to have their music promoted. As mentioned above music discovery is a passion of mine finding bands and artists to promote. The name is a tribute to two of my favorite things, Grunge and The Smashing Pumpkins. In addition to Grunging Pumpkins I recently created Bleach Bloom Music Group aka Bleach Bloom in April 2026. Bleach Bloom is a music community with the goal of operating as a record label. Like Sub Pop that built identities first—sound and culture matter as much as music. That is the focus of Bleach Bloom. Loud enough to matter.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing is ever smooth when it comes to social media and the music industry. The algorithms, industry plants, getting followers, people not supporting you, so on and so forth.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Everything I do right now is in addition to my full time job that pays the bills, but I am not going to bore people with that part of my life. Grunging Pumpkins specializes in music discovery and music promotion. Bleach Bloom specializes in being a music community with a short list of bands and artists with the goal of operating as a record label. Any interested like minded music lovers that want to help and be a part of the behind the scenes of Bleach Bloom to help it continue to grow and get the word out are always welcome.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
My uncle Bobby is my biggest influence. He has been retired from the music industry for quite sometime now. Lady GaGa’s former manager, Director at the Songwriters Hall of Fame, grew up in Carrol Gardens (Brooklyn) and was good friends with Jimmy Iovine (Interscope Records), who everyone would call Moochie when he came to my grandmother’s house and last but not least was in a 1970’s band called Flame.
