Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for travel is really what inspired me to become a travel advisor. I’ve always enjoyed traveling, exploring new destinations, cruising, and creating memories with my family and friends. Over the years, I realized that I enjoyed the planning just as much as I enjoyed the trip itself.
I also genuinely love helping others. I was already the person family and friends came to when they needed help planning a vacation, finding the right resort or cruise, or figuring out all the little details that can make traveling feel overwhelming. Becoming a travel advisor allowed me to turn something I naturally loved doing into a business.
That’s how Happily Ever Haley Travel came to life. Today, I get to combine my passion for travel with my passion for helping people create unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s someone’s first cruise, a family vacation, a birthday getaway, a group trip, or that long-awaited dream vacation, I love being part of the journey from the planning stages all the way to departure.
For me, it’s about more than just booking a trip—it’s about helping people make memories they’ll talk about for years to come. And every time I travel myself, I come home even more excited to share what I’ve learned and help someone else experience the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped me grow. One of the biggest challenges has been building my clientele and learning that support doesn’t always come from the places you expect it to. When you’re building a business, it takes time for people to recognize your value, trust your expertise, and eventually become loyal clients.
I’ve learned that consistency is extremely important. Sometimes you can spend hours researching and planning the perfect vacation for someone, only for their plans to change or for them not to book at all. Travel is also constantly changing, so there is always something new to learn, whether it’s destinations, cruise lines, resorts, policies, pricing, or handling the unexpected.
There have definitely been moments when I’ve had to encourage myself and keep going, even when the support or bookings weren’t coming as quickly as I hoped. But I’ve learned not to measure my success only by who supports me, but by continuing to provide great service and allowing my work to speak for itself.
Slowly but surely, I’ve built relationships, gained repeat clients and referrals, and continued growing. Every booking, every referral, and every client who comes back reminds me why I started. I genuinely love traveling and helping others experience amazing vacations, and that passion keeps me going.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a travel advisor, I help take the stress out of planning vacations so my clients can focus on enjoying the experience and creating memories. I specialize in cruises, group travel, family and friends trips, milestone celebrations, all-inclusive resorts, and customized vacations.
I’m especially known for putting together group trips and making sure the details are handled from beginning to end. I understand that planning travel for a group can be overwhelming, so I try to make the process as easy as possible by keeping everyone informed, answering questions, providing reminders, and helping my clients feel prepared before they ever leave home.
What sets me apart is the personal attention I give my clients. I don’t believe in simply making a booking and disappearing. I genuinely care about their experience. I’m available to answer questions, help navigate changes, make recommendations, and provide the little details that can make a big difference. I also love traveling myself, so many times I’m able to share firsthand experiences and recommendations rather than just information I found online.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients and the trust they place in me. There is nothing better than having someone return from a vacation excited to tell me how much they enjoyed themselves, refer their family and friends, or come back and ask, “Where are we going next?”
Happily Ever Haley Travel is about more than booking vacations. I want my clients to feel like they have someone in their corner throughout the entire process. My goal is to provide personalized service while helping people see the world, celebrate life, and create unforgettable memories—one journey at a time.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a big believer in always learning, especially in the travel industry because things are constantly changing. I use travel industry resources, supplier trainings, webinars, social media, travel groups, and other travel professionals to stay informed about new destinations, resorts, cruise ships, promotions, and industry updates.
One of my favorite resources is actually traveling myself. I love being able to experience different cruise ships, resorts, destinations, restaurants, and excursions firsthand. It gives me knowledge that I can bring back and share with my clients, and I think there is something special about being able to say, “I’ve been there, and here’s what I loved about it.”
I also use technology and AI tools to help me stay organized, brainstorm ideas, research, create content, and manage some of the day-to-day tasks that come with running a business while also working a full-time career.
Outside of work, I believe in surrounding myself with positive people, enjoying my family, traveling, and making time to actually enjoy life. I’m always learning as I go, and I think some of the best lessons come from simply experiencing life, trying new things, and being willing to grow.
