Today we’d like to introduce you to Edwin Cole.
Edwin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name Edwin Cole born and raised in PG county Maryland I started taking basketball seriously in the 10th grade. I struggled with confidence and anxiety during games, which didn’t help being that my HS team was not good at all. But I stuck with it and after applying and appealing several times I got into Frostburg state where I had the opportunity to continue my basketball career.
At Frostburg I had no playing time the first half of my freshmen season, determine to play I worked very hard and by Christmas break I was able crack rotational minutes. After that the next 3 years i became 1,000 pt scorer, 3rd all time in rebounds & blocks, and 2x second team All conference amongst other achievements. After graduating 2019, I worked as a truck driver during the pandemic and continued to pursue basketball as a professional. November 2021 my hard work payed off when I was offered my first contract to play in Armenia. It’s here where i make a name for my self overseas scoring 50 points in one game while going undefeated the entire season when I played. From there i was able to gain a contract to Ecuador and eventually Spain based on my achievements in Armenia winning DPOY and A-League Championship.
After taking a break I found myself training younger kids in basketball and found my passion for coaching and teaching. Since then I’ve started my own company Cole Elite Training while serving as a founding coach for Next Gen Agility an aau program based out of Potomac,MD. As well as boys basketball assistant Varsity coach at Paint Branch HS in Burtonsville, MD. I still participate in men’s leagues all through out the DMV but nowadays i focus on using my mind to lead, educate, and inspire young athletes on the come up.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No but it’s been manageable, running a business is hard in general but the more you learn the better you get. I had particularly struggled with renting out gym space and time management overall.

Make a plan stick to it, whatever you have in mind write it down and make a plan to attack!
