Today we’d like to introduce you to Jap Newell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My Name is Jap Newell aka Japvisions4.0. Born and raised in Sarasota, Florida in the projects call (project Lane) I’m the Second oldest of 9 brothers. I started hip hop dancing at the age of 6 . In my neighborhood at the age of 8yrs old I started dancing in the Easter parade until I was 13 in front Thousands of people. I was inspired by James brown, MC Hammer, Michael Jackson, & luke Campbell Aka Uncle Luke. I started my first impersonation as Steve urkel while watching Family matters in the 90s. My family and Friends enjoyed it as making them laugh was a gift after that I continue learning others. I know God had something plan for me growing up. All through Highschool I joined drama class I’ve learn how to write plays and create characters . In 2014 I became president of OPM Productions along side my crew and directing my own skits writing. We help Teenagers and Adults around the community and other communities to be in skits and more. We put together a children’s concert in my neighborhood. I been featured in Underground movies and music videos along the way. Now i am an A&R for Destinie music group/ universal Music Group.. I put together Distribution deals for independent artists around the world that wants I also have my own label call 4.0 entertainment where people can come to be apart with their Talent.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Since 2014 I helped build my own Business call OPM products it was rough sacrificing my time away from my family. Spending time Traveling a lot staying up days and my nights no sleep. My family saw me at my hardest times trying to get through a lot of pain but now they are very proud of me. But the great thing is meeting people in the industry, helping others how much I can seeing smiles on faces is Worth the time and pain. God delivered for me I’m grateful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve learn To market with club owners and putting together my own events and how to book artists to perform and learn how the music industry moves I specialize in my characters I play in skirts and do impressions and stand up comedy as well. I’m proud of how I grew over the years and learning more. telling jokes and being creative. I set apart from others as being myself and creating my own vision.
