Daily Inspiration: Meet Antonio Cawthorne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Cawthorne.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up, I was always drawn to comedy and action movies. I admired the actors who could entertain people, make them laugh, and leave a lasting impression. That inspired me to want to stand out in my own way and bring positive energy to others. As I got older, I discovered a passion for sports and fitness. Working out became more than just exercising—it became a way to build discipline, confidence, and a stronger mindset.

Over time, I realized that my love for entertaining people and my passion for fitness could go hand in hand. I wanted to motivate others while creating an environment where people could smile, have fun, and become the best version of themselves. That’s how Tonio Grizzly Fitness was born. The grizzly bear has always been my favorite animal because it represents strength, resilience, determination, and the ability to keep moving forward no matter the challenge. Those are the same values I strive to live by and inspire in everyone I work with.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started, everything felt exciting and full of possibilities. As I got older, though, I realized there are a lot of stereotypes in both the entertainment and fitness industries. It’s not always enough to have the talent or passion—you often have to fit a certain look or image, and that can be challenging.

Over the years, I performed in several stage plays and created comedy skits, which helped me grow as a performer and build confidence. As I matured and my body changed, I was fortunate enough to land opportunities in filmmaking, but I quickly learned that success in the industry comes with plenty of highs and lows.

The same has been true with fitness and personal training. Building a brand, finding clients, and earning people’s trust is a journey with constant ups and downs. There are moments when everything is moving in the right direction, and there are times when progress feels slow. Through it all, I’ve learned to stay patient, keep improving, and trust the process. Every setback has taught me something, and every challenge has made me stronger, both as a person and as a professional.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I wear a few different hats, but they all connect through one purpose—to inspire, entertain, and motivate people. I have a background in acting, stage plays, comedy skits, and film, and I love bringing energy that makes people laugh, think, and enjoy the moment. At the same time, I’m a personal trainer and the founder of Tonio Grizzly Fitness, where I help people become stronger physically while building confidence and discipline mentally.

I specialize in creating an environment where people feel encouraged instead of judged. Whether I’m on camera, on stage, or training a client, I want people to leave feeling better than when they arrived. Fitness isn’t just about changing your body—it’s about changing your mindset and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you thought.

What I’m most proud of is staying true to who I am while continuing to chase both of my passions. I’ve continued to grow despite setbacks, and I’m building a brand that reflects my values of strength, resilience, consistency, and positivity.

What sets me apart is my personality and authenticity. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, making them laugh, and pushing them to be their best. I don’t believe success is one-size-fits-all, and I don’t expect everyone to look the same. My goal is to help people become the strongest version of themselves while reminding them that every journey is different. That’s what Tonio Grizzly Fitness is all about.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love my city because it’s full of talented, resilient, and hardworking people. There’s so much creativity, culture, and heart here, and no matter where I go, I’ll always represent where I’m from.

If I had to say what I like least, it’s that sometimes it feels like people aren’t truly seen or supported until they’ve already made it somewhere else or their name is already established. There are so many gifted artists, entrepreneurs, athletes, and creators who deserve opportunities long before they’re recognized. I believe our city has incredible talent, and I’d love to see more people uplift and invest in one another while we’re still building, not just after we’ve become successful.
