Today we’d like to introduce you to Malik Perry.
Hi Malik, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey started in Baltimore when I began performing as a street performer at the Inner Harbor. That was one of the first places where I really started developing my confidence as a performer and connecting with people through music.
In 2015, I began creating drum content using songs from different artists and sharing my performances online. Over time, the content started gaining attention, and I began getting recognized for my unique style and creativity. That led to opportunities to appear on television and perform at bigger venues and events.
As my platform and opportunities continued to grow, I was able to turn my passion for drumming into a career as a performer, content creator, and educator. One of the biggest moments of my journey so far was recently performing at the FIFA World Cup Final alongside iShowSpeed. Looking back, it’s amazing to think that my journey started as a street performer at the Inner Harbor and eventually led me to performing on one of the biggest stages in the world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve faced setbacks, uncertainty, and times when I had to keep pushing without knowing when the next opportunity would come. There were moments when I questioned myself, but I continued to stay consistent and believe in my talent. Every challenge has helped me grow and made the opportunities I have today even more meaningful.

I’m a professional drummer, performer, content creator, and music educator. I specialize in creating high-energy drum performances and content that connects drumming with popular music and culture. I’m best known as A1Chops for my creative drum covers and unique performance style.
I’m most proud of how I’ve been able to turn a passion that started with street performing into opportunities to perform on major stages, including the FIFA World Cup Final. What sets me apart is my ability to combine musicianship, entertainment, and creativity in a way that connects with people both online and in person.
