Conversations with Shirelle Thorne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shirelle Thorne.

Shirelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am “The Minister of Fun”, so my hope is that when people encounter me, they leave with a smile. One of the ways I accomplish that is through “GameSpirations”, my traveling game show. Initially the name was “Gospel Games and Giggles”, but I figured the name would limit my audience, so I changed it to “Games and Giveaways with Shirelle”. Then I rebranded to “GameSpirations”, because it is truly a game show that inspires.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is never a smooth road. Manifesting your dreams comes with struggles, especially if you are creating the roadmap. When I first had the idea of a traveling inspirational game show, there was nothing else out there like it.

My challenge is finding corporate sponsors for prizes. We are now in Baltimore City Rec and Parks and the kids love that they get an opportunity to be a contestant on a game show and possibly win a prize!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am also a facilitator of team building events, an author, writer, and host. I am known for being a HIGH ENERGY presenter because you will remember me and the great time you’ve had long after the event is over! I am most proud of my two short films that I wrote and produced because they both won awards, and the family board game I invented. What sets me apart from others is my creative brain and gift of humor. I never run out of ideas and I do everything in a spirit of excellence while making you laugh.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as being able to get up everyday and use your God given gifts to do something you love with integrity, and a healthy mind and body.
