Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTisha Jones.
Hi LaTisha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely! The fashion piece is a huge part of your story and deserves more shine. Here’s a more balanced version that highlights the boutique, your community work, and naturally builds to the North Avenue project.
Styled4You Boutique started from my love for helping women feel confident. I’m a registered nurse by profession, but I’ve always had a passion for fashion and serving people. In 2018, I took a leap of faith and launched Styled4You Boutique with my three daughters because I wanted women to have access to unique, affordable fashion that helps them feel confident, whether they’re going to church, brunch, a conference, date night, or simply running errands.
What started as an online boutique quickly grew into our showroom in Owings Mills. Over the years, we’ve become known not just for helping women find head turning looks, but for creating memorable experiences. We’ve hosted fashion shows, styling events, women’s empowerment gatherings, vision board parties, autism and breast cancer awareness events, creative workshops, and collaborations with other small businesses. We’ve built a community where women feel welcomed, encouraged, and inspired every time they walk through our doors.
That commitment to community is what led us to our next chapter. We were honored to be selected as a grantee through the West North Avenue Development Authority (WNADA). The grant is part of a larger initiative to revitalize the West North Avenue corridor by investing in businesses and organizations that are committed to creating economic opportunity, neighborhood investment, and long term community impact.
Because of that investment, we’re expanding to North Avenue, and this is about so much more than opening a second boutique. We’re creating a destination where fashion, beauty, entrepreneurship, and community all come together. It will be a place where people can shop, create content, receive beauty services, attend educational and networking events, and gain hands on experience through internships and mentorship. We also hope to provide opportunities for other small businesses to grow alongside us, creating a ripple effect throughout the community.
Looking back, every chapter has prepared me for this one. Nursing taught me how to care for people. Fashion taught me how confidence can transform lives. Entrepreneurship taught me how to create opportunities. The North Avenue project allows me to bring all of those passions together in one space that I believe will have a lasting impact on West Baltimore. 💕
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something that made both me and the business stronger.
Like many small business owners, I’ve faced financial challenges, staffing challenges, inventory decisions, and the uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship. Then there were personal challenges, balancing family, my career as a registered nurse, and building a business from the ground up. There were seasons when I questioned whether I could keep going, but I never lost sight of why I started.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you have to be willing to pivot. The retail industry changes constantly, so we’ve had to evolve by creating experiences, building relationships, and becoming more than just a place to shop. That’s why we host fashion shows, community events, workshops, and collaborations. We want people to feel connected, not just like customers.
Even with this North Avenue expansion, there have been challenges. Revitalization projects don’t happen overnight. They require vision, patience, partnerships, and perseverance. Being selected as a WNADA grantee was an incredible honor, but it also came with the responsibility of bringing that vision to life in a meaningful way.
When I look back, I don’t see setbacks. I see preparation. Every obstacle has helped shape the leader I am today and has reinforced my belief that when your purpose is bigger than your problems, you keep moving forward. That’s exactly what this North Avenue project represents for me. It’s proof that persistence, faith, and community can turn a vision into something that impacts generations.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
People who only know me as a nurse are always surprised to learn I own a fashion boutique. And people who only know me through Styled4You Boutique are just as surprised to find out I’m a registered nurse. Almost every time, the next question is, “How did you end up doing the other?”
The truth is, I’ve never seen them as two separate paths. At their core, both nursing and entrepreneurship are about serving people.
As a registered nurse, I learned how to care for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Nursing taught me compassion, leadership, critical thinking, and the importance of seeing the whole person.
Entrepreneurship has allowed me to care for people in a different way. Through Styled4You Boutique, I help women build confidence, celebrate themselves, and feel empowered through style. That passion has also led me to develop my own private label collections, including a scrub line inspired by healthcare professionals and an athleisure line, both of which will launch for the Fall/Winter 26. It’s been incredibly rewarding to merge my nursing background with fashion in a way that reflects both sides of who I am.
Beyond retail, I love creating experiences. We’ve produced fashion shows, hosted community events, partnered with other entrepreneurs, and created spaces where people can connect, learn, and grow.
Today, my biggest focus is leading our North Avenue expansion. This project is about much more than opening another boutique. We’re creating a destination where fashion, beauty, entrepreneurship, and community come together. It will provide internships, workforce development opportunities, business collaborations, and a place where aspiring entrepreneurs and creatives can gain real world experience.
I’ve come to realize that my calling was never about choosing between nursing and entrepreneurship. It has always been about using every gift and every platform God has given me to serve people!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck. I believe God is intentional and that He orders our steps.
When I was selected as a WNADA grantee for the expansion of Styled4You Boutique, a lot of people told me how lucky I was. I appreciated their excitement, but my response was always the same: I don’t believe it was luck. I believe God handpicked me for this opportunity.
With that comes a tremendous responsibility. I don’t see the grant as simply funding a building or helping me grow my business. I see it as an assignment to serve the community well. That’s why I’m so passionate about making sure the North Avenue project creates real opportunities through internships , partnerships, and a space where people feel valued and inspired.
That doesn’t mean the journey has been easy. There have been setbacks and challenges along the way, but I’ve learned that even those moments have purpose. Every obstacle has taught me something I needed to know for the next season.
I’ve learned not to ask, “Why is this happening to me?” Instead, I ask, “What is God trying to teach me through this, how will it develop or prune me and how can I use it to serve others?”
So when people say I’ve been lucky, I simply smile and say I’ve been blessed. I believe God opens doors with purpose, and my responsibility is to walk through them with excellence, humility, and a commitment to leave my community better than I found it.
