Inspiring Conversations with Camellia Bollino Doyle of Classically You by Camellia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camellia Bollino Doyle.

Hi Camellia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
For almost two decades, I had been doing research to evaluate and improve federal healthcare programs. My experiences gave me the opportunity to help evolve various healthcare systems using diverse perspectives of consumers and stakeholders. It has been impactful work, but for years I have felt an emptiness, an inauthenticity in my professional identity. As I advanced as a research consultant, I felt increasingly compelled to leave this work to pursue a career that elicits in me a greater passion and purpose.

I grew up surrounded by women who understood the power of style. My mother and grandmothers used fashion as a form of self-expression – embracing femininity, independence, and strength through what they wore. Some of my most meaningful memories are of shopping with them, whether for everyday life or for special occasions like holidays, vacations, and celebrations.

To them, every outfit was an opportunity to express who they were, how they felt, and how they wanted to move through the world. That perspective shaped me early on.

Over time, I began to notice a lack of age inclusivity in fashion. The women I admired most were confident and expressive, yet as they aged, their options became more limited and prescriptive. Fashion, which should empower, often began to do the opposite. This realization led me to pursue a Masters of Fashion Management at the Parsons School of Design, where I deepened my understanding of style and identity.

While at Parsons, I had the opportunity to take an internship with a small start-up fashion brand, a space, in between. (https://asib.design/) , based in Tokyo. I led research on the 50+ lifestyle market to understand customer needs. This work focused on how fashion can better support self-expression, comfort, and confidence as we age, while also aligning with more sustainable and intentional ways of consuming.

All of these experiences inspired me to create Classically You by Camellia, a different styling experience that will help women feel authentically themselves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been easy! As a mom of three, I was scared to leave my stable corporate job to pursue this career.
However, I knew I needed to take this leap and embrace who I am in order to be true to myself. I also wanted to show my children that it’s not too late to follow your passion and embrace your authentic self.

In terms of building my business, I didn’t know where to start. I felt overwhelmed with learning how to build a website, registering my business and getting clients!

Sometimes I still struggle with knowing I am enough and having the confidence to grow my business and know I am capable.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Classically You by Camellia?
I founded Classically You by Camellia to help women feel confident, authentic, and empowered through personal style. I believe getting dressed should be enjoyable, not overwhelming, and that style should reflect who you are rather than the latest trends.

As a Parsons School of Design graduate with a background in consumer research, I bring a unique perspective to personal styling. My work is grounded in understanding people, their lifestyles, preferences, and goals so I can create wardrobes that are both functional and deeply personal. I specialize in one-on-one styling, wardrobe edits, personal shopping, and helping women build timeless wardrobes that support their everyday lives.

My graduate research explored how representation in the fashion industry influences the experiences, confidence, and purchasing decisions of women over 50, reinforcing my belief that every woman deserves to feel seen and represented in fashion.

What sets Classically You apart is my personalized, thoughtful approach. I take the time to understand each client’s unique style, body, and lifestyle to create solutions that work specifically for them. I want people to know that Classically You is about helping women rediscover their confidence, simplify their wardrobes, and embrace a style that feels authentic at every stage of life.
