Today we’d like to introduce you to Walter Washington, IV.
Hi Walter, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Maryland, spending my childhood in both Prince George’s County and Harford County. At the tender age of 8 years old, I gave my life to Christ. I was a member of Ebenezer AME Church (Fort Washington, MD), under the prestigious tutelage of Pastor Grainger and Co-Pastor Jo Ann Browning. During adolescence, I began to walk along the path of God’s will for my life; from there, I was blessed to have the opportunity to speak at multiple churches, become an Ordained Minister, and the journey to Spiritual Coaching was activated.
I attended Harford Technical High School where I received my CNA and then furthered my education at Virginia Union University; matriculating in 2015, I earned hmy Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. During undergrad, came the first opportunity for religious leadership and I became the Youth Pastor at St. James Baptist Church in Richmond, Va. under the leadership of Pastor Kevin L. Sykes. From there I was called to serve as Youth Pastor at Victory Grace Center under the leadership of Dr. Jasmin Skulark. After yielding to ministry, doors begin to open for me to begin work with A-List clients at Clarke and Associates, Washington DC. My serving spirit was reconnected to the youth when I began working within Prince George’s County Public Schools. The tools needed to teach and lead students were acquired to ensure their development.
I have served at several churches from adolescence to the present. Due to my exposure to the ministry of spiritual guidance and the call that is on my life, I have been able to help guide friends, family, colleagues, leaders,A-Listers and those that were assigned to me on his journey to spiritually advise them. The accumulation of these experiences conceived IV Life.
Then 3 years later, God took me even further to create a new space of worship in the DMV. We launched our ministry WRSHP IV Life in September of 2024 to curate the space for discipleship and community for old and new believers of the faith. I was very intentional in following the footsteps of Jesus, by creating disciples before stating a church. After 2 years of being a ministry we launched our church Revere Church, where our mission is for those that join our community to be REjuvinated, REdefined and REnewed.
The journey has been hard and at times has been lonely; but my philosophy is “to be in pursuit of God, by way of serving others!”. It is our service to others, will God will in return bless you with the desires of your heart and bless you with the fulfillment of your purpose in life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth at all. Whenever you are called to do something that you’ve never seen someone do personally, the highs are highs and the lows are lows. The struggles that I have faced along the way is dealing with disappointment from those that you thought would be of support from you.
I have learned that some people will see your greatness and will only support you as long as you’re not climbing. So for me I have had a lot of disappointment and rejection due to me pursuing the greatness that God has called me to. There have been many times I wanted to give up because the pursuit to a place that you’ve never experience before is hard. Starting a business and then starting a church 5 years later is not a small task. So it was very important for me to connect with people that supported the vision that God gave me, not put so much emphasis into those that I thought would walk the journey with me, and truly depend on God and trust the process He has for me.
Starting a business and church using your own money and starting from scratch is hard. It takes discipline, sacrifice and lots of prayer. However, due to me being obedient to God; He provided and stepped in every time!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
The persons that deserve the credit of supporting me and walking this journey with me is my Wife, Caprice Washington, who is the definition of helpmate, the one who covers me in prayer and supports the vision that God has given me and supports the visionary in so many ways. I also would like to give credit to my Mother, Lori Pittman, who has been there since day 1 of my life and has always supported me and pushed me into walking into my purpose. Lastly, I want to give credit to my team at IV Life and Revere Church. You can not complete a vision or task without a team and I can’t imagine doing any of this without the ones that support and work hard to bring the vision to life!
