Check Out Andrea Williams’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Williams.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Lynne’s Libations is a luxury mobile bartending and mixology business serving the DMV area, specializing in curating hand crafted cocktails and elevated experiences for our clients and guests alike.

Prior to the creation of the business, Lynne’s Libations has always been a dream of mine. When in college, I would create different specialty handcrafted cocktails for celebratory occasions, in hopes to satisfy pallets and curate safe spaces. Here is where I learned customer service. I became attentive to details, guests’ wants, needs and adjusted myself accordingly. After college, life became mundane and I was yearning for a new creative outlet. So, once I started my new career, I began to explore the DMV, to learn the needs of my community.

As I enjoyed the best years of my twenties, I noticed all age groups enjoyed going out, indulging in a libation or two, but would complain about attending the same venues. This is where the idea of a mobile bartending service came about. I wanted to be available to those who had something to celebrate, but wanted to celebrate in the comfort of their homes (private events). So, I got to work. First, I had to think of a name that was meaningful and would establish a legacy. “Lynne” is a family name near and dear to my heart, a middle name that I share with my mother. “Libations” pays homage to the history of spirits and the joys it brought over generations of celebrations. The two together, like the ingredients in a well crafted cocktail, made the perfect pair “Lynne’s Libations”. Now was the time to turn my passion into a business.

After much planning, in July 2023, I launched Lynne’s Libations mobile bartending services and never looked back. Today, as a certified and insured business, Lynne’s Libations continues to curate elevated experiences of empowerment and connection through private events such as birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, wedding receptions, holiday parties, corporate galas, etc.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to entrepreneurship wasn’t the easiest, but it’s been SO worth it. While on this journey, I always knew my why, but a few struggles I ran into were figuring out my how, my what, and contemplating the what ifs. Prior to launching the business, I dove into finding the needs of my community, how I could provide for these needs, and what I’d do to make sure this dream came to fruition, all while acknowledging the hesitations I had along the way. There was a lot of learning and understanding that took place about sacrifices, marketing, strategies, pricing, contracts, client expectations, creative elements, work/life balance, and being able to show up financially for the start up and the continuation of the business.

However, with faith, perseverance and support, over time, my team and I learned that you can learn and adjust as you go, and these challenges allowed us to grow in ways unimaginable.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
By night I may be a mobile bartender, but by day I am a Forensic DNA Analyst in the DMV area, with a life-long obligation to be a voice to the voiceless.

I’m known for my ability to make people feel seen, showing up fully, being steadfast, thinking on my toes, and being detail oriented – skills that translate into both my career and my business. I’m most proud of finding time for myself and the balance of both my 9 to 5 and my 5 to 9. I love that I found the space and time to make one of my creative passions of creating luxurious, elevated cocktails and experiences for others into a reality and providing my clients with memories for a lifetime. It brings me joy to bring others ideas to life and ensure they enjoy their event as well. We hold true to our motto “You host, we serve”.

How do you define success?
To me, success is reached when you accomplish something bigger than yourself – when you find something you are passionate about and turn it into something that benefits you and others around you. Lynne’s Libations is and will forever be my success story. It was once a thought that became a reality based on determination and faith and proof that you can be successful in doing something you’ve never done before. I thank every client, guest and supporter for allowing my dreams to come to fruition. Every booking, share, review, conversation and recommendation means more than you’ll ever know. Together, we have made this business a success. Cheers to all that is to come!
