Daily Inspiration: Meet Coach Ella Destiny

Today we’d like to introduce you to Coach Ella Destiny.

Coach Ella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into coaching wasn’t something I planned overnight, it was born out of pain, purpose, resilience, and faith. After surviving a life-threatening brain aneurysm, my entire perspective on life changed. I realized how many people were silently struggling mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically while still trying to show up for everyone else. I knew my survival had to mean something bigger.

Before fully stepping into coaching, I spent years working in Human Resources and leadership roles, helping people navigate challenges, transitions, and personal development professionally. Naturally, people would come to me for guidance, encouragement, accountability, and clarity long before I officially became a coach. Over time, I realized that my gift wasn’t just motivating people, it was helping them rebuild, rediscover themselves, and move forward with confidence and purpose.

I became a Certified Life and Resilience Coach and built my business around helping people heal, reset, gain clarity, and become who they were truly created to be. My coaching focuses heavily on resilience, mindset, purpose, boundaries, confidence, and helping people stop surviving and start intentionally living.

Today, through my coaching programs, speaking, books, podcast, and online platform, I’ve been able to impact people from all walks of life. What makes my coaching different is that I don’t coach from theory alone, I coach from lived experience. I know what it feels like to lose yourself, rebuild, and fight your way back mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. That authenticity is what allows me to truly connect with the people I serve.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles was learning how to rebuild my life after surviving a brain aneurysm. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, everything changed. There were moments where I had to fight through fear, uncertainty, exhaustion, and even questioning my own purpose. Starting a coaching business while healing myself was challenging because I was pouring into others while still learning how to pour back into myself.

Another struggle was transitioning from stability in my professional career into entrepreneurship. Building a business from the ground up takes consistency, discipline, sacrifice, and faith especially when people only see the finished product and not the behind-the-scenes work. There were seasons where things were slow, moments of self-doubt, financial pressure, burnout, and trying to balance multiple responsibilities while still showing up for my clients and community.

I also had to learn that everyone who supports you verbally will not necessarily support your vision financially or consistently, and that was a hard lesson early on. But those challenges taught me resilience, boundaries, strategy, and how to truly trust God during uncertain seasons.

Honestly, every struggle shaped the coach I am today. It gave me empathy, wisdom, and real-life experience that allows me to genuinely help people navigate difficult seasons, pivot, heal, and keep moving forward even when life doesn’t go as planned.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Professionally, my career has been rooted in leadership, people development, resilience, and service. I spent years working in Human Resources within the federal government, where I gained extensive experience in leadership, operations, employee relations, problem-solving, and helping people navigate some of the most important transitions in their careers. That experience taught me how to lead with both strategy and empathy while managing high-level responsibilities in fast-paced environments.

At the same time, I always had a passion for encouraging and empowering people beyond the workplace. Over the years, people naturally gravitated toward me for guidance, accountability, motivation, and support through personal and professional challenges. That eventually led me to become a Certified Life and Resilience Coach and build a business centered around helping people gain clarity, rebuild confidence, strengthen their mindset, and move forward with purpose.

Today, my professional life includes coaching, speaking, writing, content creation, and advocacy work. I’ve had opportunities to appear on media platforms, speak about resilience and women’s health, publish books, host my podcast So What Wednesdays, and work with individuals who are navigating life transitions, healing, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.

What I value most about my career journey is that it combines both professional expertise and lived experience. I don’t just teach resilience, I’ve had to live it. That balance has allowed me to build meaningful connections with the people I serve while continuing to grow personally and professionally along the way.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say resilience is the quality that has been most important to my success. Life has challenged me in ways I never expected, from surviving a brain aneurysm to navigating personal, professional, emotional, and financial obstacles while still trying to build a business and serve others. There were many moments where giving up would have been easier, but resilience taught me how to keep moving forward even during uncertainty, setbacks, and difficult seasons.

I also believe authenticity has played a major role in my success. I’ve never wanted to present myself as perfect or pretend that life has always been easy. People connect with honesty, transparency, and real experiences, and I think that’s why so many people are able to relate to my story and the work I do.

Most importantly, my faith has been my foundation through it all. It’s what helped me keep going when things felt overwhelming and reminded me that purpose can come from pain. The combination of resilience, authenticity, and faith has shaped not only who I am personally, but also how I lead, coach, and serve others.
