Hidden Gems: Meet Jamie Kramer of Jamie Kramer Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Kramer.

Hi Jamie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my career in the events and communications industry, where I spent years building experience in planning, strategy, client management, and creating meaningful experiences for people. For a long time, I had the goal of eventually starting my own business, but like many people, I kept waiting for the “right” time to take the leap.

Ironically, it was during one of the most uncertain times in my life that everything changed. During each of my pregnancies, I seriously considered leaving my job to pursue entrepreneurship, but ultimately stayed in the security of a traditional role. Then, unexpectedly, I was laid off. At the time it felt devastating, but looking back, it was the push I needed to finally bet on myself and build the business I had always envisioned.

I launched my event planning business during the pandemic, which, on paper, sounds almost impossible. The industry had completely paused, and there was so much uncertainty around live events. The first year was slow, but I used that time intentionally. I focused on building my brand, refining my services, networking, and creating a strong foundation so that when the world reopened, I was ready.

As events came back, so did the demand. People were craving connection and in-person experiences again, and I was fortunate to grow alongside that momentum. One of the biggest lessons from that time was learning how to adapt and think creatively. The pandemic challenged the events industry to evolve, and it pushed me to find innovative ways to create meaningful experiences for clients, whether virtual, hybrid, or in-person.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful for the journey. What once felt like a setback became the catalyst for building a business and career that I truly love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. Starting an event planning business during a global pandemic came with a lot of uncertainty, and in the beginning I wore every hat imaginable. I was not only planning events, but also building a brand, creating systems, managing finances, marketing my business, sourcing clients, and learning how to run a company from the ground up.

As a working mom, balancing entrepreneurship and family life has also been one of the biggest challenges. There are days when I go straight from a client meeting to a school pickup or spend late nights catching up on work after my kids are asleep. Learning how to manage my time, set boundaries, and adapt quickly has been essential.

There were definitely moments that felt overwhelming, especially early on when I was figuring everything out in real time. But despite the challenges, the rewards have far outweighed the difficult moments. Building something of my own, creating flexibility for my family, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally has made the journey incredibly fulfilling.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Jamie Kramer Events?
At Jamie Kramer Events, we specialize in creating thoughtful, elevated events and experiences that feel both seamless and deeply personal. Our work ranges from corporate events and conferences to weddings, mitzvahs and all types of social gatherings, with a strong focus on intentional details, meaningful guest engagement, and exceptional execution.

What sets our company apart is the combination of creativity, organization, and relationship-building that we bring to every event. We are known for being highly detail-oriented while also creating experiences that feel warm, welcoming, and customized to each client’s vision and goals. I never want an event to feel cookie-cutter. Every client, audience, and brand is different, and I pride myself on creating events that reflect that.

Because I launched my business during the pandemic, adaptability became part of our foundation from day one. That experience taught me how to think creatively, problem solve quickly, and pivot when needed, all while keeping the client experience at the center of everything we do. I believe that flexibility, communication, and trust are some of the biggest reasons clients continue to come back and refer us to others.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built through relationships and word-of-mouth. As a small business owner and working mom, I’ve grown Jamie Kramer Events from the ground up with a strong emphasis on authenticity, professionalism, and care. I want clients to feel supported from the moment they start working with us, and I want guests to walk away feeling like every detail was intentional.

At the end of the day, our goal is simple: to create events that not only run smoothly, but leave people feeling connected, inspired, and excited to be part of the experience.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
One of my biggest pieces of advice is to take the risk, even if you do not feel fully ready. Some of the biggest opportunities for growth come from stepping into unfamiliar territory. There have been many moments in my business where I was navigating something completely new, and while that can feel intimidating, every challenge comes with valuable lessons.

Not every risk will work out exactly as planned, but there is always something to learn from the experience. Each time you push yourself outside of your comfort zone, you gain confidence, resilience, and a better understanding of what you are capable of. I’ve learned that growth often comes from simply being willing to try.

In the events industry specifically, I would also say that relationships and adaptability are everything. No event goes perfectly 100% of the time, so being able to problem solve calmly, pivot quickly, and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors is incredibly important. Some of the best opportunities in this industry come through trust, reputation, and word-of-mouth, so how you make people feel matters just as much as the event itself.

I also think it is important to stay open to evolving. Trying new things, testing ideas, and embracing change keeps both your business and your creativity moving forward. Some of the best things in my career have come from opportunities that initially felt a little scary.
