Michelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into herbal wellness started through a combination of my healthcare background and my passion for natural healing traditions. As a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of experience, I’ve spent much of my career caring for people through conventional medicine. Over time, I realized many individuals were looking for a more holistic approach to wellness — one that supports the body naturally while still respecting modern healthcare.
Growing up around Caribbean herbal traditions also played a major role in shaping my perspective. I saw firsthand how herbs, nutrition, and lifestyle practices were used to support overall well-being within the community. That inspired me to begin studying traditional herbs more deeply and learning how they could complement modern wellness practices in a safe and intentional way.
What started as creating herbal remedies for family and friends eventually grew into Elevated Essence Wellness & Apothecary. Today, I offer handcrafted herbal tinctures, salves, body butters, and wellness consultations designed to help support the body naturally while educating clients about the importance of nutrition, lifestyle, and balance.
My mission has always been to bridge the gap between herbal tradition and modern wellness — creating products and educational support that empower people to take a more active role in their health journey.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges along my journey has been personally losing loved ones to chronic and what many considered terminal illnesses. Those experiences deeply affected me because, in many cases, I believed there was a lack of education, prevention, and understanding surrounding overall wellness, nutrition, and holistic support options.
Seeing those struggles firsthand pushed me to learn more about both modern medicine and traditional herbal wellness. It strengthened my desire to educate others about being proactive with their health and exploring ways to support the body naturally alongside conventional care.
Building Elevated Essence Wellness & Apothecary has come with its own challenges as well — balancing entrepreneurship, healthcare knowledge, product development, and community education — but those life experiences gave me a deeper sense of purpose. They reminded me that this work is about more than products; it’s about helping people feel supported, informed, and empowered in their wellness journey.

I’m especially known for bridging the gap between herbal tradition and modern wellness. My goal is never to replace conventional care, but to help people feel more empowered, informed, and intentional about supporting their bodies naturally.
What I’m most proud of is the trust people place in me. Whether it’s through my consultations, educational content, or herbal products, I love being able to help people feel heard and supported on their wellness journey. I’m also proud that many of my products and recommendations come from personal experiences, cultural traditions, and years of hands-on healthcare experience — making the business deeply personal and purpose driven.

More than anything, I want people to understand that wellness is a journey, not a quick fix. My goal with Elevated Essence Wellness & Apothecary is to create a space where people feel educated, empowered, and supported while exploring more natural approaches to wellness alongside modern healthcare. I’m passionate about preserving traditional herbal knowledge, especially Caribbean healing traditions, while helping people make informed decisions about their health.
