Hidden Gems: Meet Tara Parker of Nomadic Nirvana Mobile Massage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Parker.

Hi Tara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a full time massage therapist for 8 yrs now and started mobile massage in 2020 which started from numerous client requests during the pandemic “lock down”. I would suit up in PPE and travel with my table from house to house. Luckily I never contracted Covid-19 during my travels. Although the world was “shutdown”, people still craved healing, therapeutic touch and I was able to still provide that. What started off as something local to Baltimore, soon grew to surrounding areas such as the DMV region and beyond.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As most emerging entrepreneurs will experience, client retention was the hardest starting out. Trying to maintain steady clientele to be able to make ends meet was the main challenge. Massage therapy is often looked to as an luxury indulgence when in fact is a form of holistic healthcare especially in other cultures. My main focus has been to spread the knowledge of its therapeutic benefits and continue to provide quality care so that people can feel more inclined to factor regular monthly massages into their budget.

As you know, we’re big fans of Nomadic Nirvana Mobile Massage . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My brand is focused around offering global massage modalities in the comfort of your home, office, hotel, hospital (or wherever you may currently be). My technique is integrative, meaning I blend all the “tools in my toolbox” together to provide a customized session for each client based on their needs. I’m trained/certified in several modalities such as, lymphatic drainage, Ayurvedic massage, Traditional Chinese Medicine massage techniques, prenatal and postpartum massage, post operative massage, injury and rehab massage, Thai massage, cupping and hot stones, structural bodywork, Myofascial release, reflexology and of course Swedish and deep tissue.

I’m known for providing Grounding and therapeutic massages that help aid in realigning the muscles, fascia and skeleton which in turn reset the nervous system.

What sets me apart from others is my mobile capability, my unique aura as a massage therapist, and being well versed in a multitude of massage modalities. I am constantly learning new modalities and love to teach as well so people can better understand their bodies.

I am most proud of my reputation as a knowledgeable therapist that helps people to feel better. Doing this work is very enriching and rewarding from the impact that I have on the clients that I meet.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
A favorite childhood memory of mine was spending night with my cousins after any family function or holiday gathering. The famous question of “ask your mom can I spend the night?” was always tossed around by the end of the night and waiting to hear “yes or no” would either be a delight or ruin your evening.
