Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Velez-Jimenez.
Hi Brenda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started ten years ago in childcare. I opened the business due to my son being on the spectrum. I knew nothing about how to open and business or childcare regulations. Ten years later, I’m level 5 excels, nationally accredited, pre-K teacher with the aspire program. It’s been a tough road but it was well worth it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lately childcare has been a struggle due to the rising costs of everything. It makes it difficult to keep tuition low.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in pre-K and working with children in special education.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The cost of everything is I insane in Baltimore especially in Catonsville.
