Today we’d like to introduce you to Rahsaan Caine.
Hi Rahsaan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always known I wanted to be self-employed. That mindset didn’t start when I became an adult—it started when I was just a kid. At 12 years old, I was collecting basketball cards, not just for fun, but because I believed they would be worth more years later. ( I wish I knew about stocks but I didn’t at that time) but Even back then, I understood something simple but powerful: value grows over time, and success comes from thinking
At 23, I started an air duct and dryer vent cleaning company named RC Duct Cleaning . That’s where everything really started for me. I wasn’t looking for a job—I was building something of my own. I worked the business myself for the first year, learning every detail of the work, understanding customers, and figuring out what it takes to run a real company.
After that first year, I started hiring people and shifted my focus completely to marketing and building the structure of the business. I realized early on that if I wanted to grow, I had to stop thinking like a worker and start thinking like an owner.
Once I had a strong foundation, I started exploring new opportunities. I got into day trading—commodities, options, and futures—and also started flipping homes. By the time I was 27, I had multiple streams of income, and everything was moving fast in the right direction.
Then the 2008 real estate crash hit.
That moment taught me one of the biggest lessons of my life. I realized that while blue-chip stocks can be stable, day trading is closer to gambling than building something real. It forced me to refocus and double down on what I knew worked—my business.
I put even more energy into marketing and made sure my employees continued to make money. That became a priority for me. I wasn’t just building a business anymore—I was responsible for other people’s
Lives.
Once things stabilized again, I stepped into a completely different space—e-commerce. I started a hair company called “Love Indian Hair” and began marketing it through well-known celebrities.
I had to learn everything from scratch because every business has a language —things like 1B hair, closures, and product quality. But by that point, I understood something important: every business follows the same core rules.
1.Find where your customers are
2. Offer an excellent product or service
3. Stay disciplined and focused
4. What’s the correct pricing
No matter the industry, those principles never change.
One of the biggest things that helped me succeed is staying focused. There are so many distractions out there—Netflix, sports, social media—but I live by an 80/20 mindset:
80% of my time goes toward my goals and building my future
20% I use to enjoy life
That balance keeps me sharp without losing sight of what matters.
At one point, I gave my hair company to my best friend we started it together. He needed the money more than I did, it was his only income and I was in a position where my main business was still strong and generating income.
That decision wasn’t about loss—it was about understanding that there’s always more opportunity out there. And sometimes you have to step back to focus more on thr correct things .
Today, I’ve been running my RC Duct Cleaning business for over 23 years, serving both commercial and residential clients in the Washington DC metro area. It’s still a strong, reliable business.
On top of that, I teach people about growing wealth and understanding stocks and I invest in real estate , stocks and Airbnb properties across the U.S. and internationally.
But through everything I’ve done, my main goal has always stayed the same:
Freedom to control my time, my income, and my life.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
Success comes from solving problems, staying disciplined, and staying focused long enough to see it through.
Everything else is just noise
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My biggest struggle was always myself believing I can make it with the ups and down when I was younger.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about RC Duct Cleaning ?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very active and competitive. I loved playing sports and was naturally good at them—everything from wrestling to basketball. Sports taught me discipline, consistency, and how to push myself, I learned a lot watching my parents starting business, being one of the first black own check cashing business in dc and flipping homes etc. . which later translated directly into how I approach business.
At the same time, I was always thinking about money and freedom from a young age. I didn’t just want to work—I wanted control over my time and my future. I was always looking for ways to create value and build something of my own.
I also come from a strong, driven family. Success and hard work were always around me, and that mindset carried through. My nephew, Noah Lyles, went on to become one of the fastest men in the world, which shows the level of dedication and focus that runs in our family.
Overall, I’d say I was competitive, focused, and always thinking ahead. Even early on, I knew I wanted more out of life—and that I was willing to work for it.
