Meet Pearline Twilah Faye Muckelvene of Twilah Faye Healing Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pearline Twilah Faye Muckelvene.

Hi Pearline Twilah Faye, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I decided I wanted to be in the wellness industry at 16. It was the same year that many of my traumas arose due to my experience with grief. As a child beginning at age 5, I experienced many levels and versions of trauma, but I never wanted to carry my pain, so I dissociated before I knew what that meant. I would dance, stretch, and sing as ways to express myself. My heart was heavy, but every time I moved my body, I felt lighter. During my childhood, I spent a lot of time in solitude. Trauma had become a huge part of my life, and I could not relate to many individuals my age due to the levels of pain I walked with every day. Throughout my teenage years, walking with pain in my body and spirit had become my norm. I felt in control, but when grief struck, I realized how much I was missing in my life by walking around numb.

When I turned 19, I temporarily moved to Italy with my husband as a newlywed. We lived in a small town, so small that once we left the neighborhood, we were no longer in the same town. Due to the quiet and slowness of my days, the traumas that I thought remained in the past showed up with similar levels of pain in experiencing. I cried, screamed, laughed, experienced physical signs of distress, but was always medically cleared. No matter the levels of swelling, redness, tension, migraines, or feelings of illness, the blood test revealed I was healthy. I decided I needed to heal what couldn’t be seen or reported medically.

I began my healing journey by moving my body, expressing the trapped energy within me. Somatics became part of my daily life through mindful movement. It was an ancient wisdom I had tapped into, never naming my actions but living them. Over time, I began to look up keywords like energy, movement, and healing, and learned about the mind-body connection and how traumatic energy can become trapped in the body and show up physically.

In 2018, I committed to becoming an energy worker because of the energy work I had begun on myself. I saw the benefits and wanted to share them with others. However, through research, I learned that I must have a license to touch, so I decided to become a licensed massage therapist. I fell in love with combining energy and bodywork together. The clinical side of massage therapy, in collaboration with energy work, naturally became part of every service I provided in massage school, so I decided to expand my individual practice to what came naturally to me.

Much of what I do comes from energetic downloads I get from my lineage. Ancestral practices and knowledge are a big part of what I do, and I cannot ignore the role my ancestors play in my practice. I live in gratitude for their sacrifices, their love, guidance, and exploration. Each service I offer is a thanks for what came before me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life for me began bumpy, but it taught me perseverance, determination, and how to reclaim my personal power. There is a perception that says life is out to get us, but life doesn’t attack us; it teaches us. We learn who we are through experience. Life doesn’t decide who we are; our choices do.

A few years ago, I decided to look into life and how we humans hold on to things throughout it. It helped me explore forgiveness and resentment. I started looking into the things I was holding on to that were present with me, but had happened in the past. Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady” comes to mind when I consider the baggage I was carrying, mentally and spiritually.

My studies on stagnant energy led me to publish my first book, Healers Break To Heal: The Guide To Forgiveness Workbook. In the book, I documented my journey of forgiveness, the prompts I gave myself, and journal entries that helped me release energy in real time. I never wanted to be one of those people who “say” but never “do.” If I were going to tell people how to heal themselves, I would walk with them and myself on that journey. I believe in embodying rather than simply saying. It is exhilarating to reclaim personal power through working on becoming a more aligned self.

While on this journey of healing, it may look dark, but you will only learn how to identify light once you have seen the darkness. Embracing the truth, the dark, and the hidden side is how you reclaim your personal power and feed your light.

We’ve been impressed with Twilah Faye Healing Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Through my practice, Twilah Faye Healing Studio, I host healing workshops, sell self-development books, and offer energy and bodywork services.

My Healers Break to Heal Workshops are catered to the lessons in my Healers Break To Heal Book Series. Ideally, individuals who consider themselves energy workers, healers, service providers, caretakers, parents, highly sensitive persons, and empaths attend with the goal of balancing their energy centers and resetting their nervous system.

Attendees and clients often report that I am highly intuitive, attentive, and caring. I see and sense more than meets the eye, with the intention of helping each individual get to know themselves better. I support clients on their journey to embrace more of who they are through truthful expression. It is important that we are all honest with ourselves in how we show up for ourselves.

Personal power is a major part of my practice. For services, I begin with a treatment plan consultation, so both client and practitioner can be dedicated to their wellness journey. Home care and service care are both important, and through collaboration in the treatment plan, the client and practitioner can celebrate both small and big wins. Within services, I may utilize rain sticks, tongue drums, Tibetan bowls, sound bowls, and ocean drums. Energy work is embedded in every service and product offered.

Each detail matters at Twilah Faye Healing Studio. The sound, scent, view, and before-and-after care are considered important.

The Signature Therapeutic Massage is customizable to clients’ needs while remaining clinical and energy-based. It helps release unresolved tension stored in the body. Additonally clients may request sound tools as part of their service.

The Nervous System Reset Massage includes Craniosacral Therapy at its core. Craniosacral Therapy is ideal for those with nervous system dysregulation, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, and PTSD. It can also support those who want to get better-quality rest.

The Lymphatic Recovery Massage is a light-touch massage that supports the body’s detoxification process by enhancing lymphatic flow. The lymphatic system plays a key role in filtering toxins, helping reduce excess fluid, and promoting the removal of waste from the body.

The Womb Wellness Massage offers a gentle, intentional focus on the womb, supporting cleansing, balance, and reconnection. Combining intuitive energy work with therapeutic bodywork, this service is tailored to meet each client’s individual needs and healing intentions.

The Reiki Therapy service offers a calm, gentle experience centered on energy healing. Using light touch, sound, and stones, this session creates space for the release of stagnant energy while supporting deep relaxation and energetic flow.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is of my late maternal grandfather telling me laughter is the best medicine. His teachings have played a huge role in my journey towards healing. I aim to spread as much love, grace, and culture as he did and still does simply through the memory of being.
