Vanessa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, I’m Vanessa White, a Bronx, NY native of Jamaican descent currently based in Maryland. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Morgan State University in May 2017 and have called Maryland home ever since. From an early age, I’ve always had a deep love for beauty and self-expression. I still laugh thinking about sneaking into my mother’s makeup to try on her bronzer, and by the age of 12, I was already styling hair for family and friends. Over time, that passion evolved into a love for individual lash extensions. In April 2018, I became a certified lash artist and have spent the past 7+ years perfecting my craft. My work is rooted in maintaining healthy natural lashes through safe, intentional application while creating customized sets that reflect each client’s unique style.
Today, I am the owner of Intentionel Lashes, a professional lash artist, and a lash educator. I take pride in not only enhancing beauty but also teaching others the art and skill of individual lash extensions, empowering the next generation of lash artists to build with confidence and care.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! Life moves fast, and challenges are inevitable. From location changes over the years to slow seasons, busy seasons, and even product shortages, there’s always a roadblock somewhere along the journey. The key is learning how to pivot and keep going. Without my faith in God, a resilient mindset, unwavering discipline, and a refusal to give up, I wouldn’t be where I am today with Intentionel Lashes. Faith, consistency, and continued effort are essential, because in the end, every bit of hard work truly pays off.

I am the owner of Intentionel Lashes located in Randallstown, MD. Intentionel Lashes is a luxury beauty studio dedicated to enhancing natural beauty through intentional, high-quality lash services. I specialize in custom lash sets that are tailored to each client’s eye shape, lifestyle, and personal aesthetic. Services include full sets, fills, cluster lashes, lash removals, and beginner-friendly education for those interested in entering the lash industry.
What sets Intentionel Lashes apart is my intentional approach to beauty. Every appointment is designed to be a personalized experience, not a rushed service. I prioritize lash health, retention, and proper technique, using premium products and thorough consultations to ensure long-lasting results that never compromise the natural lashes. Lash education its extremely important and I make sure I stay up to date with what is going on in the industry, and inform my clients. Brand-wise, I am most proud of the trust and loyalty built within my community. Intentionel Lashes is more than a lash studio; it’s a safe space where clients feel seen, cared for, and empowered. My brand represents consistency, professionalism, and purpose, and that shows in both my work and my client relationships.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I feel like success is really happiness. Not just money or status, but waking up every day feeling fulfilled, aligned, and genuinely happy with the life I’m creating. Success is walking in my purpose and knowing that what I do has meaning. In the beauty industry, it’s deeper than just providing a service, it’s about helping women feel confident, seen, beautiful, loved, and cared for. It’s about creating an experience that pours into people, not just outwardly, but inwardly too.
I also believe success is being in alignment with God and trusting the path He has for me. Knowing that I’m using the gifts He gave me to serve, inspire, and build something with intention means everything to me. When I’m able to move with purpose, create from a place of passion, and make an impact while staying true to who God called me to be, that’s success for me.
