Check Out Krystal Williams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Williams.

Hi Krystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I didn’t set out to build a traditional event design company; I set out to create experiences that make people feel something.
I’ve always been drawn to how the arts bring people together, how creativity and expression in various mediums can shift energy, create connections, and turn everyday moments into something meaningful. A lot of my early fabrication work came from being hands-on, figuring things out in real time, bringing ideas to life, and learning how to turn vision into something people could step into and experience.
That’s what led me to create Doable You. I wanted to build something that felt different, something more personal, more intentional. We’re an experiential design + build firm, which means I don’t just design spaces, I bring them to life with my hands and heart from start to finish.
Being based in this area has shaped so much of how I work. There’s so much creativity, culture, and resilience here, and I’m inspired by that every day. Whether I’m working on private intimate events, large scale sporting events, a corporate conference, or creative brand experience, my goal is always the same, to create something that feels real, that reflects the people it’s for, and that leaves a lasting impression.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur of any kind is a roller coaster ride. It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be. One of the biggest challenges has been building something that doesn’t fit into a single category. People are used to hiring a designer or a builder, but not both, in one….and definitely not a female builder/fabricator. So early on, I had to really stand behind what I was creating and help people understand the value of a full experience.
There were also moments where I had to trust myself before everything was fully proven. Building something from the ground up comes with uncertainty, and I’ve had to navigate that while still staying true to my vision.
But I think that’s part of being a woman building something of your own, you learn to trust your instincts, stand in your work, and keep going even when things aren’t clear yet.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Doable You, LLC, established in 2016, is a woman-owned fabrication and installation studio serving the Washington DC Metro Area. The company specializes in custom scenic fabrication, structural event builds, event design, decor, and on-site installation for private, corporate, collegiate, nonprofit, and large-scale public events.

As a fabrication-first studio, Doable You delivers custom-built environments, dimensional signage, eye-catching event decor, and branded structures for high-traffic, broadcast-visible spaces. All structural fabrications are created in-house at our facility, ensuring quality control, efficiency, and accountability from fabrication through installation, supporting sponsor-integrated, high-volume event environments that demand durability, precision, and seamless execution.

You’ve seen our work all around Baltimore City: CIAA Basketball Tournament 2024-2026, Preakness 2025 at Pimlico Race Course, Fete Champetre at Middle Branch Park, and various events and designs at Morgan State University, World Trade Center Baltimore, and other local restaurants and event spaces.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is about impact. It’s when someone walks into a space and feels something immediately, before anything is even said. It’s when a client sees their vision come to life in a way that feels even better than they imagined.
I also define success by the relationships I build along the way, working with people who trust me, who value creativity, and who want to create something meaningful.
And honestly, success is being able to build something that reflects who I am and where I come from, while creating opportunities for myself and my community to grow and expand beyond that.
I’m excited about what’s ahead. The work is growing, the projects are getting bigger, and I’m stepping into new opportunities that allow me to expand what Doable You can be, while still staying rooted in what got me here.
