Life & Work with Pastor Pat of Davidsonville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pastor Pat.

Hi Pastor Pat, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Chesapeake Christian Fellowship (CCF) began on January 20, 1994 when 7 individuals gathered in the living room of CCF Founding and Senior pastor, Pastor Pat Packett to launch a church that would not do church “as usual” and would unapologetically preach the Word of God. It would be ” a different kind of church for a different kind of times.” Their first official service was held March 6, 1994. Over the next 8 years the church would grow and meet in a variety of venues to include the Ramada Inn, Holiday Inn, Central Elementary School, and South River High School. In 1998 the congregation had grown to 400 members are were able to by the land on W Central Ave where the church is located. The current building was completed on the land in September of 2002, and the first service was held on October 2, 2002. 6 years later, the church would add a second building with a gym, commercial kitchen and space for a school.
Eventually, God would lead CCF to open t schools within the church building. On April 10, 2006 CCF opened a preschool called Shepherd’s Flock. The preschool serves children ages 2-4. In August 2021, CCF expanded its school offerings and opened Chesapeake Christian Academy which serves grades K-8. The schools serve the community by offering an affordable Christian based option to the community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Challenges always go hand in hand when building something new, especially when it is faith based, but God provides. We have struggled financially at times over the years but God always provides what we need. Ministry is by natural is challenging but is also the most rewarding thing we do! We are here to serve our community despite the challenges!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
CCF is most proud of how God has used us to reach others for Him. Our mission statement is “Seeing people who don’t know Jesus come to Jesus.” God continually reveals ways He wants to use use us through missions, evangelism, community outreach and one-on-one discipleship. In addition, to the local community we also support missionaries overseas and a school in Haiti.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Sharing the Gospel of jesus Christ. Mathew 28:19-20 NKLV tells us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
