Hi Marrae, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Marrae Jean Hill was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, where she began her real estate career in 2013. After becoming licensed, she partnered with her mother, Joy Hill, under Keller Williams. What started in Pittsburgh quickly grew into a family operated real estate business. Her sister Kalynn joined the team, followed by her brother Justin, forming Hill Real Estate Group. Her dad works a long side them as the license and insured general contractor with a team.
With strong systems and leadership in place, Marrae expanded the business beyond Pittsburgh into Maryland and Washington, DC. Today, the team services clients across multiple states while maintaining its core foundation as a family driven company built on trust, integrity, and results.
As COO, Marrae oversees operations while actively serving investors, first time home buyers, sellers, and commercial clients. She works with single family homes, multi family properties, and commercial assets, seamlessly navigating both residential and commercial transactions. Together, the team has helped over 250 families reach their real estate goals.
In addition to traditional real estate, Marrae has experience working within the sports and entertainment industry. She has assisted NFL players from the Pittsburgh Steelers with securing housing, understanding the level of discretion, urgency, and professionalism required when working with high profile clients.
To better support her investor clientele, Marrae launched her property management company, providing full service property management solutions. From leasing and tenant placement to maintenance coordination, bookkeeping, compliance, and asset protection, her team ensures properties are professionally managed and positioned for long term growth.
As an investor herself, Marrae understands how to build wealth through real estate and is committed to helping her clients do the same across Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
Outside of work Marrae is deeply committed to fitness and is a proud member of the 4 AM club, training with heavy weights to maintain mental clarity and discipline. The gym keeps her mind sharp, focused, and energized.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building a real estate and property management company across multiple states while scaling at the same time has not been easy. There have been seasons when business slowed down. Seasons where I was implementing new systems, restructuring operations, and wondering if I was stretching myself too thin. Growth is uncomfortable. Expansion requires capacity.
One of the biggest challenges for me was shifting from working in my business to working on my business. It is easy to stay busy. It is harder to be still, seek wisdom, build structure, and trust God with the bigger vision. I had to learn that obedience is better than hustle. Strategy without prayer will burn you out.
There were moments where I questioned myself. But every time I felt pressure, God was developing me. Every closed door redirected me. Every obstacle sharpened my leadership.
What I have learned is that smooth roads do not build strong businesses. Pressure does. Systems do. Consistency does. And most importantly, alignment with purpose does. When you know God gave you the vision, you move differently. You build differently. You endure differently.
Every challenge forced me to become more strategic, more structured, and more scalable. It pushed me to stop thinking like just a real estate agent and start thinking like a steward. I am not just building transactions. I am building legacy. I am building generational wealth with faith as my foundation.
