Today we’d like to introduce you to Sammi Chambers.

Hi Sammi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion for health and wellness began after my dad suffered a heart attack, a moment that pushed me to better understand how to truly care for both the body and the mind. While I had been an athlete my entire life and played college basketball, this experience reshaped how I viewed health beyond performance.

After my playing career ended, I fell in love with fitness as a way to stay strong and grounded. I went on to coach basketball and teach physical education for eight years, earning certifications in yoga and personal training along the way. During that time, I taught group fitness classes and worked 1:1 with clients as a side passion.

I became a mom in 2024, which led me to step back, reevaluate my priorities, and be more intentional with my time. By 2025, I knew I wanted to fully pursue my passion in the fitness space. My family and I moved to Maryland in June of 2025 and I went all in on starting my own personal training business, Movement By Sammi, LLC, where I now help women build strength, confidence, and sustainable routines through intentional movement.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating a business has definitely come with its challenges, but none that have outweighed the reward. I grew up with both of my parents being teachers, so I’ve had to learn the ins and outs of the entrepreneurial world as I go. From figuring out how to get started to understanding what it takes to sustain a business, the learning curve has been real. Even so, in just seven months, I’ve learned more than I ever expected and continue to grow every day.

We’ve been impressed with Movement By Sammi, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Movement By Sammi is a personal training and coaching business built around helping women create sustainable, realistic routines that support both their bodies and their lives. I offer 1:1 personal training, private coaching, small group training, and digital fitness programs designed to meet women where they are, whether they are easing back into movement or ready to build strength with intention.

I specialize in strength training with a strong foundation in breath work, core training, functional movement, and consistency-building. While I work with women of all ages and life stages, I’ve completed continuing education in pre and postnatal core training, allowing me to safely support women through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. My background in athletics, coaching, yoga, and physical education allows me to take a well-rounded, thoughtful approach to fitness that prioritizes proper movement, long-term progress, and confidence, not quick fixes or extremes.

What sets Movement By Sammi apart is my ability to meet each client exactly where she is. I have experience training women of all fitness levels: From those learning the basics of lifting weights and busy moms returning to a fitness routine, to women ready to take their workouts up a notch with customized programming and accountability. My goal is to make fitness feel accessible, supportive, and sustainable. I believe movement should add joy to your life, not stress, and I strive to create an environment where women feel encouraged, capable, and excited to move.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the community I’ve built and the trust my clients place in me. Movement By Sammi is not about perfection or pressure, it’s about building strength, confidence, and routines that last. I want readers to know that this is a space where women are supported, encouraged, and challenged in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and aligned with real life.

There are many ways to work with and support Movement By Sammi. I work 1:1 with women who want to get stronger, build sustainable routines, and feel more confident in their bodies through private training, coaching, and small group offerings.
