Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Lyles.
Hi Brandon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I remember growing up as a kid I’ve always loved breakfast food. I would be in the kitchen cooking breakfast food and then eventually I started cooking dinner. I also learned how to cook from my grandmother Sharon and I received a lot of recipes from her. My first job was at a crab shop during the summer, while I was in eighth grade. Once I got to high school I decided to take up home economics. After graduating high school I attended Stratford University. While I attending Stratford my grandfather Anthony expressed to me, One of his coworkers on his job was looking for a caterer for her wedding. After catering my Client wedding this opened up so many opportunities for me, by word-of-mouth. I would definitely say I got to where I am now due to God, Family, Clients and friends. Oh and of course, hard work, consistency and a lot of dedication.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not always been smooth. Of course you have your seasons where you are really busy, then you might not be busy until another two or three months. Also, at one point, I found it hard to find workers to depend on because you can’t do it alone you need support. I can saying just seeing the smiles on my clients face and receiving compliments from their guest at events is what really keeps me motivated.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What you guys should know is that we are located in Baltimore Maryland off of Leeds Avenue. I specialize in catering and events. My specialty is seafood. I have a venue that can accommodate 75 guest seated. What definitely set me aside from others. Is my determination and my attitude to just always be optimistic about life . What I’m most proud about concerning my business? I have a catering company, but I have an event space so I can offer my clients basically a two for one package. I really just love being involved in my community Feeding people in need within the community doing their time of need and just helping people. I’ve been working with a Mental Company by the name of Divine Counseling LLC. I provide catering food their events for over 125 people during the holiday season .This something I really enjoy doing. what I want people to know is that my brand is very professional and we’re big on hospitality and just go above and beyond for our clients and helping out in within the community. I’m also proud that my business has been able to offer services to such businesses as Wells Fargo, Maryland Stadium, Authority, nonprofits, and schools throughout Baltimore. I have also been able to work with other Chefs and Caterers and cook for well known people and celebrities in Baltimore.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think just keeping God first not only in my business, but in life has played a major role in my success.
