Today we’d like to introduce you to LaLa Cho.
LaLa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a pelvic floor PT, I never imagined I would experience pelvic floor issues myself, though looking back, that was likely my ego talking. I was active, strong, and felt in tune with my body, yet postpartum life after my first child completely shifted my world. The experience challenged me mentally, emotionally, and physically in ways I hadn’t anticipated, and it’s a journey that remains deeply etched in my heart.
Becoming a mother didn’t just change my life, it transformed the way I practice as a pelvic floor PT. I grew not only professionally, but personally, gaining a deeper understanding of what women truly need during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Pelvic floor PT is not last resort, but as an essential part of comprehensive women’s healthcare.
There is a real gap in how women are supported during these seasons of life, and I believe we deserve better. If I can play even a small role in offering more thoughtful, whole-person care, especially during times when women are often overlooked, I consider that meaningful and important work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For me, personally, the journey has been smoother than I expected, but not easy. I truly believe that’s because I chose simplicity from the start. I moved from renting a room in another physical therapy practice to working out of the basement of my home. From a personal standpoint, that decision helped me conserve time and eased some of the guilt that can come with working while raising two young children.
Over time, I also made the intentional choice not to invest heavily in social media, Google ads, or constant self-promotion. I had to remind myself that my goal was never to become popular, it was to provide a meaningful, high-quality service to the people I care deeply about supporting.
To answer your question honestly, the hardest part—then and now—has been balancing motherhood with running a business. I’m still learning how to juggle these two roles, and it continues to be a work in progress. There’s a learning curve, and I’m giving myself permission to grow into it, one step at a time.
We’ve been impressed with 4th Trimester Physical Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
4th Trimester Physical Therapy is a boutique practice dedicated to supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and pelvic floor health at every stage of life. I specialize in pelvic floor and orthopedic PT, offering individualized, one-on-one care that emphasizes education, empowerment, and whole-body healing.
What sets this practice apart is its intentional approach. Care is never rushed, and each session is designed to truly listen to a woman’s story, not just treat symptoms. Many clients come in feeling unheard or unsure of what’s normal in their bodies; my goal is to provide clarity, confidence, and compassionate support throughout their journey.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust and sense of community that has grown around 4th Trimester Physical Therapy. This practice isn’t about trends or volume, it’s about meaningful, thoughtful care. I’m also deeply proud of the relationships I’ve built with like-minded providers across complementary spaces, allowing me to connect clients with a broader network of high-quality, aligned care when needed.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Patience has been the most important quality for me. It shows up in how I care for my clients, how I approach healing, and how I balance motherhood with running a business. It reminds me that growth doesn’t need to be rushed but meaningful!
