Hidden Gems: Meet Devin Morgan of Reliant Polygraph Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin Morgan.

Hi Devin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Baltimore and educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, which shaped much of who I am today. Those early experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for community and resilience. I later went on to earn advanced degrees from two of our nation’s most respected institutions, Howard University and Johns Hopkins University—each contributing to my professional growth and broadening my understanding of people, purpose, and leadership.

After building a rewarding career in federal service, rising to a Special Agent supervisory role in one of the country’s premier polygraph divisions, I reached a point where I felt called to do something more personal with my expertise. My work as a quality-control polygraph expert gave me invaluable training and insight into human behavior, investigations, and accountability. But I also realized that even when you’re successful and deeply committed to the mission, you can still feel a sense of unfulfillment. I wanted to make a direct impact—to sit across from people, hear their stories, meet families where they are, and be part of their journey toward healing, truth, and transformation. That desire is what led me to establish Reliant Polygraph Services (RPS).

RPS was created from a place of purpose. I wanted a practice that was accessible, community-centered, and grounded in compassion. My goal has always been to use the science of polygraph in a way that supports accountability and empowers people—especially those in recovery, navigating family or custody matters, or moving through the justice system.

And at the heart of everything I do, I’m a family girl. I take tremendous pride in being a loving wife and mother to our five children. My family keeps me grounded, motivated, and reminded of why community matters—and why this work matters.

Reliant Polygraph Services is the result of that journey: a blend of science, service, and heart.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Transitioning from a highly structured federal environment to entrepreneurship required a complete mindset shift. In federal service, the systems, resources, and procedures are already established. But when you launch your own practice, you become the system. Overnight, I had to be the examiner, the administrator, the marketer, the bookkeeper, the scheduler, and the person responsible for every single decision—big and small. One of the biggest challenges was leaving the comfort and predictability of a federal polygraph program. After so many years in that structure, stepping out on my own was both liberating and terrifying. There were moments of doubt, financial strain, and a learning curve that felt incredibly steep—but my sense of purpose kept me firmly grounded. Building a business rooted in integrity and community impact also came with its own hurdles. I had to educate people on what ethical polygraph testing looks like, address misconceptions about the profession, and establish trust with clients who often come to me during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Navigating those sensitive situations—while ensuring trauma-informed, unbiased practices—required patience, training, and a high level of emotional awareness. There were also logistical challenges: securing testing locations, managing travel, building community partnerships, and financing everything without the built-in support a large institution provides. Every tool, every resource, every appointment—none of it happens automatically. But being from Baltimore, resilience is in my DNA. Growing up in a city where strength, grit, and determination are part of everyday life taught me early on how to push through adversity, adapt, and stay focused on my purpose. That Baltimore toughness has carried me through every setback and helped me navigate this journey with courage and conviction. And despite the bumps along the way, I can honestly say: it has all been worth it. Every setback led to a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and commitment to serving individuals and families with dignity and truth.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Reliant Polygraph Services (RPS) is a community-centered practice dedicated to truth verification, public safety, and personal transformation. We provide accurate, ethical, and trauma-informed polygraph examinations for individuals, corporate clients, treatment programs, and those involved in the criminal justice system. Our work focuses on accountability, healing, and support—especially for people navigating sensitive or high-stakes situations.

What makes RPS different is the blend of federal-level expertise with a personalized, community-focused approach. After nearly two decades in one of the nation’s premier federal polygraph programs, I wanted to build a practice where every person is treated with dignity and compassion. At RPS, the polygraph process is designed to be clear, fair, and empowering—not intimidating.

We collaborate closely with therapists, treatment centers, probation departments, attorneys, and courts to support long-term accountability and positive outcomes. Whether someone is in recovery, dealing with family or custody matters, or navigating justice-related issues, we focus on truth-seeking in a way that acknowledges the whole person—not just the test.

Our distinguishing strengths include trauma-informed, client-centered testing; integrity-first practices grounded in extensive federal training; and a reputation for fairness, accuracy, and professionalism. We also prioritize accessibility through flexible scheduling, multiple testing locations, and partnerships that help clients receive timely services.

I am most proud that RPS stands for truth with compassion. Many clients come to us during challenging seasons of life, and our brand reflects reassurance, professionalism, and care. When people walk through our doors, they feel seen, respected, and supported.
