Hi Michelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, my name is Michelle, and I am a female immigrant who became a successful entrepreneur. I came to the United States as an au pair and have gone through all sorts of discrimination and obstacles until I got to where I am. My story has many ups and downs, a lot of low points where I thought about giving up, but something told me I needed to keep on going. I went from leaving in someone else’s basement, being homeless and crashing on friend’s couches to attending two of the most prestigious schools in the US and turning my vision into reality. I want to make sure others that currently are where I was, know there is a way out.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Never was and never will be. Challenges are what makes you stronger. Getting into the aesthetic industry alone was one of the biggest challenges. In this industry no one wants to help you because you’re a competitor and not a collaborator.

Beleza is a boutique practice focusing on aging and longevity. Our approach to medicine and aesthetics focus on regeneration and naturally looking results. Our brand is customer focused and we are a big family going through the aging process together and helping each other with the obstacles along the way.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m extremely introvert. Those around me find very surprising because I don’t come across that way at all at work. I think work just comes naturally but outside of work I avoid people interactions lol
