Hi Jaco, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started as an artist trying to understand how to turn creativity into sustainability. That curiosity led me to learn production, business, and eventually tech. Over the years, I built HighLife Studios, a space where artists, creators, and entrepreneurs could connect and create without limits. From there, I branched into ventures that merge creativity and innovation—from AI projects to lifestyle brands. Everything I do now comes from that same drive: to create systems that empower others to turn their art and ideas into impact.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all, and honestly, that’s where the foundation was built. Early on I faced everything from financial challenges to creative burnout to learning how to lead people when there was no blueprint. Balancing creativity with sustainability has been one of the hardest lessons. But every challenge forced me to build systems, not just dreams. Those rough seasons made me sharper, more intentional, and more focused on creating long-term impact instead of quick wins.

We specialize in music production, engineering, content creation, and artist development, but at our core, we’re about empowerment. Our mission is to give artists and creators the tools, space, and structure to bring their vision to life.

Every session, collaboration, and event is designed to help creatives grow artistically and strategically. I’m most proud of how HighLife has evolved into a symbol of possibility, proof that independent creators can build something sustainable, powerful, and rooted in purpose.

These days, collaboration looks a little different for me. Beyond the studio, I’ve started doing business consultations for young entrepreneurs and creatives who are trying to find direction in their journey, especially those building something from the ground up like I did.
