Raised with a deep appreciation for education, faith, and excellence, Cher has always known she wanted to make an impact. She has always desired more, and the guidance of her mother, C’panions, late father, Joseph, and her mentors, Willa Hall Smith, and the late Maudine R. Cooper have greatly contributed to her progress. She has been blessed to have always had a village of people who believed in her, including siblings and other family members, her past CEO’s in the corporate world, and her church family. Cher’s path was not without its difficulties, but through every challenge, and with a firm belief in God, she has remained steady in faith, allowing perseverance and purpose to guide her forward.
Education has always been one of Cher’s greatest tools for transformation. She pursued academics with determination, earning a Bachelor’s in Management and Psychology, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MHA). She also attended Harvard University for a Certificate Course for Women Executives. Her commitment to lifelong learning also led her to pursue a Doctor of Management degree, which she completed nearly in full, pausing only two courses shy of completion due to competing personal and professional priorities. Her dissertation focused on employee engagement and strategy, reflecting her passion for helping individuals and organizations unlock performance through motivation, clarity, and purpose.
But Cher’s path wasn’t meant to stay confined to boardrooms and healthcare systems. She had a bigger vision — one that connected business, creativity, and human transformation. With an entrepreneurial spirit and an eye for strategy, she launched Cher & Associates, a multidimensional firm offering business consulting, business and mindset coaching, strategic consulting, branding, event planning & coordination, and creative services. Under her leadership, the company became a trusted partner for professionals, artists, and organizations seeking to elevate their presence and purpose.
As a Certified Business and Mindset Coach, Cher’s philosophy is simple yet profound: success starts in the mind. She teaches that your mindset is the pilot that determines how high you can soar. She also founded Eagle Premier Realty Group, a property management company.
In 2020, her entrepreneurial path took another powerful turn with the co-founding of EAS Entertainment Group, where she serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Working hand in hand with President and CEO E’jaaz A. Siddiqui (Sid), Cher helped build EAS from the ground up — shaping its operations, artist management structure, and strategic vision. Together, they developed EAS into a reputable talent management and artist development agency, representing a dynamic roster of artists including Miss Gavri, GuitarMusicBoy, Shida X, and Tokyo Yaw. Through her co-leadership, EAS has expanded its reach across the DMV and New York markets, curating live events, artist showcases, and community-based initiatives. Cher plays an instrumental role in branding, media relations, and artist development, ensuring that each performer is not only seen but supported in becoming the best version of themselves.
Still, Cher’s purpose extends far beyond business. She is a philanthropist, speaker, and motivator, with a heart for service. Through partnerships and initiatives — including feeding the homeless, community empowerment events, and mentorship programs for youth and women — Cher continues to model what it means to serve with excellence and empathy. She has also been professionally trained as an actor and model.
Today, Cher Sorzano stands as a woman who wears many crowns — entrepreneur, executive, coach, strategist, real estate agent & property manager, published author, event coordinator, actor & model, and creative visionary. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The Road to Resilience
No, the road has not been smooth. Cher has faced her share of challenges — from sudden and tragic losses in her family to seasons of financial stress and uncertainty. Yet even in her most difficult moments, she refused to let hardship define her.
An experience that Cher vividly remembers is when she was offered the position of Chief of Staff of an organization. She submitted her resignation to her then, current employer, only to later receive an email retracting the offer because, as the communication stated, an internal candidate had come forward showing interest in the role. They were going to hire the internal candidate instead. This was devastating at first, but Cher explained that she was grateful after she thought it through – it was not for her. Even though that situation created a hardship, she believed that if the position was for her, it would have materialized without hindrance. It brought her back to Octavia, her late grandmother’s saying: “What is for you, is for you, and nothing will stop it.”
Thinking back, one of the most formative experiences of her career came from unfair treatment in a corporate leadership role, where one of her superiors went out of their way to make her life extremely difficult. Rather than allowing that experience to break her, Cher used it as fuel for her growth. That experience taught her how not to lead — and it inspired her further to become the kind of leader who uplifts, empowers, and treats others with respect, fairness, and compassion.
These experiences of adversity became the soil in which her faith and purpose took root. Cher’s ability to transform pain into purpose is what has shaped her signature coaching approach and her empathetic leadership style across every arena of her life.
