Cutrina Freeman on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Cutrina Freeman. Check out our conversation below.

Cutrina, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
My many years of Radio, Promotion, Talent and Production even in my Career of Clinical Administration for 20 years. I did both in two separate capacities. I took a challenged to be more involved in DEI and wanted to joint both skillsets together to build, support and advocate for the diverse, equality and inclusive. I am not marketing myself with less than 18 credits to get my BS in Communications.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cutrina Freeman. I am 54 years of age 5 grown biological children extend and many grands. I love to do talk radio and motivated speaking regarding taking your power back in your health journey. I been in broadcasting and production for over 16 years pushing hidden gems on my radio show. I also promote and produce known IG Creators international and abroad. I’m a content creator , talent scouter and have even supported DEI on a wider platform in healthcare for over 18 years.
Lady Pinks, motivated speaker, lover of entertaining and a people person with a heart to see the communities heal, learn more of themselves and take their power back.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of being powerful was when I took care of my grandparents in the country as a young child farming, cropping, cooking and learning the culture. I was the eldest grandchild with more responsibilities and they were diabetics that had money but not exactly the opportunity to get better care based of demographic. I stepped in at 13 to bath, wash, feed and provide care for them because that is what I felt the need to do. This lesson geared me into GNA which opened the door for hands on nursing in healthcare. Now discovering I needed to be a voice based off my own experiences at 55 years of age.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, I had gotten sick and had to take a short time away from working and school.
Prior to this situation occurring my position I had just promoted to phased out because of COVID. At this point I decided to take out my 401k and build my own studio, which I did. Thirty days into building and almost went into the grand opening, Covid shut it down. It hurt because it was my own and my own vision. However, I keep pushing , packed up and moved everything into my apartment .

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
My belief as a child was that I. Kind do anything I put my heart and hands to do but was scared because of my up bringing. You couldn’t be rough and cute. It was one or the other and I had both. I wore a dress and popped my legs open. You put a hat on my head I wore it all day. I wasn’t built like my female siblings. I was a combination of the two and keep all of that inside to avoid name calling or someone making me feel less inferior as a boy girl lol

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I believe people wouldn’t understand the true legacy because I was a personal people person all my life and I mainly used my own personal experiences to help others.. The conflict mainly was balance and how do I handle these unfamiliar changes.
