An Inspired Chat with Demi Brown of Parkville Maryland

We recently had the chance to connect with Demi Brown and have shared our conversation below.

Demi , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Leaving my 9-5 job to enter entrepreneurship full time.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Demi. I am a Senior Cosmetologist specializing in healthy haircare and hairstyling. I help women maintain the health and growth of their hair with protective styles that actually protect. I have been in the beauty industry for 10 years. In addition to hair artistry, I am a former M.A.C artist. My journey in the beauty industry started with makeup artistry before pursing cosmetology in 2017. I enjoy helping women look and feel their best by enhancing their natural beauty and expressing my God giving gifts through both artistries.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Betrayal, selfish behavior, and unresolved issues. To restore these bonds, communication is key! Taking accountability for one’s actions , and the willingness to forgive.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Fear of judgment, I’ve struggled with worrying about what others think.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say that i value spending time with family and striving to reach every goal that i have set for myself and my business. To be fulfilled with purpose, growth, and a peace of mind.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when i pray and release anything that no longer serves a purpose in my life.
