Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Skenderovic.
Hi Diana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my journey in the event industry as the Director of Weddings and Events at one of the largest decor companies in the area, where I had the opportunity to lead, design, and execute events on a large scale. I loved the creative process, the energy of wedding days, and the way every event told its own story- but after having my boys, I knew I wanted to create something more personal and flexible. That’s when I made the leap to start my own business, combining my years of experience with my desire to spend more meaningful time with my family and do what I love most.
It’s been six years since that leap, and I haven’t looked back. I built this business from the ground up, one wedding at the time, and it’s grown through genuine relationships, word to mouth, and deep commitment to creating unforgettable celebrations. From intimate backyard vows to large-scale ballroom weddings, every couple I work with inspires something new in me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting my own wedding design business was exciting adventure – but it came with its own set of challenges. After years of leading a large events department, I had to start from scratch: no team, no safety net and no brand recognition yet. I had to build trust under my own name, one wedding at a time. From building a brand and fining my first independent clients, to balancing design work with motherhood, there were many late night and sleep learning curves. Another challenge was being truly available for my clients. I don’t believe in “office hours” -I’m here when they need me, and that means constantly juggling priorities. But this level of care is part of what defines my work and it’s something I’m proud of.
The truth is: every obstacle and challenge shaped the way I work today and how to be better- more creative, more efficient and more connected to the couples I serve, with heart, with focus and with the kind of dedication that comes from doing what you truly love.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known for creating naturally beautiful floral and event designs that feel true to each couple’s unique vision. My style is flexible and organic-never one-size-fits-all- allowing me to bring any dream to life in a way that feels effortless and personal.
At the heart of our business is custom design- no two weddings are the same, and we believe every detail should reflect the couple behind it. We offer fully personalized floral and event design, creating everything from intimate personal flowers to large-scale luxury installations like custom canopies, chuppahs, arches, columns and full tablescapes. Whether it’s a lush, elegant centerpiece or a minimal, romantic setup, we tailor each element to client’s vision.
Our curated inventory includes a wide variety of vases, candle holders, containers and decorative pieces, giving us the flexibility to create both grand and refined looks. On the day of the event, we handle every part of the setup- delivering, assembling and styling everything so client can focus on enjoying the moment.
Clients often tell me they felt truly seen and supported thoughts the entire process. I pride myself on being deeply present, a great listener and someone they can rely on from start to finish.
What fills me with the most pride? That moment when couple walks into their space, smiles wide and says, “It’s even more than we Imaginate”.
What sets me apart is my deeply personal approach to every event and wedding I design. Whether flowers are the centerpiece of the day or just a small detail, I treat each client’s vision with the same level of care, creativity and respect. I understand that no two weddings-or couples-are the same. That’s why I don’t believe in set hours or rigid processes, I made myself genuinely available, always ready to listen, guide, and support my clients whenever they need me. It’s not just about designing a beautiful day- it’s about building the trust, being present and creating an experience they never forget.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe luck has played a role in opening certain doors- being in the right place at the right time or crossing paths with people who believed in me. I also believe we all create our own luck.
But more than luck, it’s been about showing up-consistently, wholeheartedly, and with care and honesty. Luck might introduce you to someone, but it’s your work, your integrity and your dedication that turn that opportunity into something lasting. Every “lucky break” I’ve had was met with long hours, personal sacrifice and a true passion for creating beauty for others.
