Check Out Lyfe The Oracle’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyfe The Oracle.

Lyfe , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in New Jersey but raised in a series of foster homes in Pennsylvania. As a child, I was always whimsical by nature and daydreamy. I admired artists like Whitney Houston to Queen Latifah, and I wanted to be something like that. I used to have little talent shows with the neighborhood kids for fun. Later, I started listening to other talented artists like Erykah Badu, Bahamadiah, and Rah Diggah. Their rap style and fiery stage presence influenced my writing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been such a smooth road at all. There were definitely mind-awakening experiences along the way. Foster care exposed me to difficulties growing up, and it shaped the way I saw the world in a way. Even though I had some truly amazing experiences growing up, I also had a bit of darkness and strife. It wasn’t until later that I would understand how my childhood affected my thought process. I had to unlearn a lot, and even at my age, I’m still healing and learning how to better myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In my professional life I have been a student of art. When I was a teenager and to young adult, I studied theater and art at a place called Riverside Arts and Magnets school. It was a beautiful experience and one that I will treasure forever I was a student with other gifted and talented individuals who would push me to be the best I could be. That stuck with me. Currently, I am leaving my 13-year teaching position at the preschools to be a caregiver to the elderly, something that will make my heart very happy. I am also a receptionist at a Beauty spa, which I enjoy. I feel one thing that sets me apart from others maybe my willingness to admit I’m not perfect and to accept accountability for the way I once saw life, and my desire to change that perspective to enhance my awareness and be an influence to those who have not had it so easy in life.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I also write movies other than songs, and I can low-key draw a little bit. Screenwriting is something I would like to enhance so that one day a manuscript I’ve written can be seen on the big screen. Drawing and painting takes me a while, but I know if I studied it would be calming to step into.
